Pre-Game Talk: Dallas vs Oile-OMG IS THAT A CAT WORKING AT MCDONALDS!?!

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

So legitimate question.

Does McDavid hit 100 points this year?

He’s currently at 90. Barring an early return or an injury setback, he’s probably playing April 1st vs VGK at the earliest.

That leaves 9 games until the end of the season. Does he get 10+ points in that span?

I'd say yes, because he will be well rested and him and the team will push for it. Teams like those landmarks. Also 10 points in 9 games isn't even a stretch for him

Neither Drai or McDavid are in for tomorrow's game right? Going to be a tough one... Dallas is a solid club.

As a bit of good news, Stan Bowman displaying public confidence in a long-term extension for McDavid:

Essentially, if McDavid decides that he needs to stay in Edmonton to win a cup for the fans, he signs... but he mentions something about being close to people he loves, so there's always that Leafs-signing threat that all my Leafs-fan friends always tell me is going to happen!

other than wishful thinking by delusional Leaf fans, I've never heard one "insider" ever mention the Leafs and McDavid

it's nonsense

The Leafs ability to sign McDavid subsided a lot when both Matthews and Nylander re-upped.

I imagine Treliving will likely be focused on a Marner and Knies extension rather than trying to go after McDavid.

Be shocked if McDavid even comes close to free agency. He'll be signed long before Treliving even has a chance to go after him.

It would suck if he doesn't because that would be a 2nd season that he should've done it that he didn't. The first was the season stopped due to covid.

The COVID season, yes. This one? He's had two healthy stretches of the season where he wasn't scoring much, around a PPG.

The first one was circumstance, this one is somewhat self inflicted.

I'll cue some controversy. 16.5M is a bit steep. To get that McD needs to be the undisputed top player in the league. Last couple of regular seasons he hasn't been that. Add to it that Drai who would be making less money is outproducing him, outscoring him, and has far better defensive and outscoring metrics.

Every f***ing thread in here lately is a Holloway/Broberg whine thread. f*** me, can we at least keep it somewhat contained to the appropriate thread???

We have the Around the League, this thread, biggest disappointment and then the actual whine thread all saying the same thing. Yes, it's a conspiracy by the league to f*** the Oilers and no, it is not cathartic to jerk off to pics of your ex. Half you people hated Broberg and called him a bust and now miss him like he's your 1st born. It's embarrassing.

No regrats. What an idiot.
