GDT: Dallas Stars at Ottawa Senators - 5PM - TSN5 / RDS2 - To Win or Not Two Wins - Cowboy Cookout at the Okay Corel Centre

I think the Senators should hire you with the title “Best fan”. At the very least some kind of internship. You can create content about how to be a fan the right way. It can play during puck stoppages and intermission. Maybe a segment or two with Claire Hanna.
I would prefer "most rational fan", but that's just me.

Yesterday we scored on the first shot and today we scored two in like a minute.

About those losses to Dallas and St. Louis:

The Sens had 3 off days between the Wild and the Stars (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)
but for some reason they had a hard practice on Wednesday, and then played on Thursday and Friday. Shouldn't they have had the hard practice on Tuesday?
Don't know if any one remembers but they looked sluggish against both the Stars and the Blues.

Flu was going through the team at the time, so they might have figured it was best to give them two days off to recover, and they get in a good practice to shake off the rust, idk.

Solid win! Bit of a sluggish start to the game but they woke up late in the first and dictated the play from then on.

Very relieved we took both of the weekend games. The thought of people in here pinning to claim Brannstrom from the waiver wire makes me queasy.

It's not a schtick.

I focus on the process and the performance of the team, not just the result. Anyone with a brain can see that the team has been playing great hockey despite the results lately. It's been the same shit all season long. It's f***ing exhausting how people overreact after every loss and take out their anger on me. They are completely incapable of looking at things rationally. It's doubly ironic when the biggest accusation is that the team is too emotional and immature, when it's they themselves who are too emotional and immature.

Besides, I'm well within my right to dish it back when we win.
So on the 4 game losing streak you were super optimistic. That 4-0 loss was a beautiful game.

The same way people who are too pessimistic can be delusional the people who are too optimistic can be delusional as well.

Nobody in the franchise gives a shit about what happened 8 years ago. With the sole exception of Chabot, nobody in the franchise was here back then. Not the players, not the coach, not the GM, not the owner. Not even the jerseys and the team logo are the same.

Chabot was drafted in 2015, Tkachuk and JBD in 2018, Batherson in 2017, Shane Pinto in 2019 which is soon going to be 6 years ago...

I said 8 seasons ago not 8 years because 8 years ago we were going to make the playoffs and reach the ECF with the team that Bryan Murray built and that Dorion destroyed very quickly.

But why am I even talking about this with you? lol that has nothing to do with what I said, it is regarding OUR experience, the fanbase, the guys who end up PAYING those salaries.

That's YOUR problem, not theirs. Don't project your insecurities onto this team. All that's important is this season alone, and they are doing a fine job.

My insecurities? lol wtf are you on?

You can cheerlead and spoof your non-sense as much as you want but in the end, it's a business about RESULTS, they are going to be judged on if they make the playoffs or not. As of today, they are NOT in a playoffs position.

They have looked good at times (like most teams) but here are the results for you :

P% : 16th
GF/GP : 21st
GA/GP : 12th
CF% : 9th
SF% : 9th
GF% : 14th
xGF% : 16th

Congrats, your idol Pierre Dorion took 7 seasons to build an average team (which might finally be thanks to Staios tweaks)

My positivity will be directly linked to their results, I'll become more positive when they are more consistent and get better results. I think it is the case for MOST fans, not everyone is going to be a BLIND HOMER

Those numbers look pretty good. What are you bitching about.

Stepping back, that long road trip, with serious injuries in goal, would have buried this team the last few years. Granted, they were on fumes at the end of it, but basically finishing it at 0.500 was a huge accomplishment. It's too bad they had to have the sabres game right after, but this weekend has been a nice bounce. There are a bunch of teams that look to be in the fight until the end, so it won't be easy, but it looks quite possible.

Bitching? Seriously? "Sigh" is all I can say

Sorry I guess I just can't be a BLIND HOMER

32 teams

P% : 16th = AVERAGE
GF/GP : 21st = BELOW AVERAGE
GA/GP : 12th = SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE
CF% : 9th = ABOVE AVERAGE
SF% : 9th = ABOVE AVERAGE
GF% : 14th = AVERAGE
xGF% : 16th = AVERAGE

Congrats, we throw more perimeter shots at the net than the average team I guess.

Hello Sens fans. Just a question about David Perron - 9 games 0 points, hasn't played since late November. First thought was is he injured but seems he is just a healthy scratch??

Has he really been that bad? His numbers in Detroit last year seemed decent - 17-30-47.

Just interested as to why he isn't playing. Thanks in advance!

He had a big family problem early in the season

Then he got injured again. He hasn't been that bad, his line just was not able to convert at all. But of course, points will need to come at some point.

David Perron is actually a figment of our collective imagination.

Actually:

He was out of the lineup for personal reasons and then got hurt one of his first games back

Wife had a challenging baby delivery.

Then he broke his back, thpinal.

Thanks for all the replies - ESPN had his status as "active" so I thought he was a healthy scratch. Capwages shows him as on IR.

Shout out to Kleven, don’t know how many players he’s been paired with this season but all the combos he’s been in look steady and realible.

Back to back games, 4 points and he’s doing his thing. Good player. Due a contract and that one will be very interesting, I’ll be surprised if he goes over 2 years.

I think you can be bullish on the Sens because they are coached really well and have found a winning game that works for them and they are good at it, all the depth players have fit in (Merilinen, Matinpalo, Gaudette, Reinhart) they’ve withstood major injuries (Ullmark, Zub, Forsberg, Perron) and that’s team leadership, systems and coaching.

The fundamentals of the team are strong. When you’re winning games against Dallas with your 3rd strong goalie and rookies on the bottom pairing, things behind the scenes are very sophisticated. Green, Staois, Poulin all doing execellent work and i have lots of confidence in what’s going on behind the scenes. The way Brady is acting now he’s taken an extra step in his veteran presence and is more calm and the team looks confident to me. Like where it’s going, still very early for a team that should have a nice 4-5 year run here
