Dustin Brown + Sucderi 50%to Pittsburgh

Marc-Andre Fleury to Dallas (when Murray returns)

Kari Lehtonen to LA

And everyone can enjoy each other's terrible contract.

Fixed it for ya!

Edit: I could see LA trying to poach something off the waiver wire. When's Murray due back?

Dustin Brown is in no way an acceptable return for anything on Dallas . ( Contract runs 4 years longer than both goalies and he's as expensive as Lehtonen not to mention he's regressed to the level of a 4th liner )

It would have to be something around Niemi/Lehtonen retained for Matt Greene . That only works though if we have a trade for another goalie somewhere and preferably also clear up the defense that would now stand at 9 defenseman as well .

How about oleksiak and niemi at 50% for Matt Greene. I would then bring up legace to back up Lehtonen and let him play some to see if another goalie is necessary

As a sort of aside, I thought both this thread and that comment were a little funny because Friedman mentioned in his 30 Thoughts that there was a Dustin Brown to Dallas rumor (shot down).

But I agree, there's nothing to be done, imo.

Seems like it could work. LA needs a starter, and Dallas has two on short-term contracts. What does each fan base think?

Problem for Dallas is that both goalies have a propensity for laying gigantic turds following a stretch of superlative performances and not having a legitimate option in goal when either one is tanking is a big issue especially when management likely wants to better their showing from last season. This is a tough decision for Dallas.

Gaborik maybe a bandaid but he is far from a cap dump

If Gaborik is going to be moved, it would be at the deadline when a team wants some extra ooomph up front and is banking he'll stay healthy during the short playoff time frame. He's still a good player right now. (Not that you disagree with this, YP44.)
