It was 1000% a penalty about a second prior to where your replay started. Very dishonest reporting. ESPN feed showed it clear as day.

The Kulak penalty at the end of the 2nd to start this all off… yeah… that one was BS.

What pissed me off about that one was they they ignored a vicious baseball swing from Bischell to Kane before it and a hook to Janmark to prevent a solid 2 on 1.

It's maddening how much they manage games.

Even the first Kulak penalty. They hooked us first leading to him doing the hooking.

I question what that fourth line is or what they are trying to accomplish.

Frederic is just skating around making the occasional hit. He brings zero offensively and I haven’t cared for his defensive game. Seems slow. I think he’s probably playing through something still but im not sure he’s a regular.

Perry brings offensive creativity but it’s lost on his linemates and he’s slug which hurts his defensive utility. I also think he’s been overplay to date as is likely worn down. I don’t think he’s a guy that needs to up his intensity he’s just restricted by his body.

Then you have a non-centre in Janmark playing centre who prefers a simple up and down simple game.

If it were me I’d run the following

RNH-McDavid-Hyman
Kane-Draisaitl-Kapanen
Skinner-Henrique-Brown
Podkolzin-Janmark-Arvidsson

Part of having good depth is being able to sub out players for someone super hungry to get in. I’d bet even a guy like Jones would come out flying for a game. I’m not advocating for Jones specifically but use these guys.

It is easily the 3rd game he's lost single handedly this post season between game 1 vs LA, and game 3 vs Vegas. I'll give him game 2 vs LA because the entire group wasn't great, although to be fair to the group the game started with two soft GAs.

People were talking about NHL game fixing. All the NHL had to do was convince our management that we didn't need any goaltending. lol if that actually happened. Just a gag line. But its true. Skinner in net is the great fixer, unfortunately. We'd have 1-2 cups without it.

Goals 2 and 3 are brutal goals. There’s traffic. It’s the playoffs. Maybe don’t stare at the guys back that’s right in front of you and do nothing but go down. If skinner fights for position and gets bumped by the guy standing two feet in the crease it’s goalie interference. And as a bonus he may fight to get in position to make the save.

I really believe all of Skinner's problems (well, okay, most) stem from a complete inability to track the puck. He can't plan ahead like you're outlining because he's either in complete panic because he doesn't know where the puck is or he's frozen in place because he doesn't know where the puck is.

Don't disagree...I would the same. I'd even bring Jones in for Frederick! And I'd plug Skinner in for a try... I'm not like most people here clamoring for him to get in....he has basically sucked by my eyes... better toward end of season but no where near what he was. And I'm not demoting Podkolzin. But...I'm with you...we need something...

Skinner (with some help from Nurse) also sabotaged our 2nd round which lead to most of our forward group getting beat down by a massive D group that got extremely cocky after we ruined our game 1. A series that went for 7 games that should have been a sweep or 5 games at the most. The damage from that series caught up to us in the finals.

This is always my counter to the, 'Skinner got them to Game 7 of the SCF' argument.

No, they got there in spite of him and he probably cost them the Cup by dragging that Vancouver series out.

I think the shit PK is mostly on the goalie, and not just Skinner.

The PK was unplayable for the first 4 games of the Kings series (Pickard wasn’t great on it either), then kind of stabilized, then was actually pretty good against Vegas. Because we were getting the odd save.

Then Skinner decides to do his thing again. I don’t perceive the PK was getting picked apart or anything like that. Just every shot goes in.

Skinner refuses to fight through screens.

Which is why he gets beat clean on shots from distance more than any other goalie in the league.

If Skinner has to be our guy…….the oilers entire gameplan needs to be to focused on stopping the stars from playing east west hockey. It’s Skinners kryptonite.

And stop taking f***ing penalties.

Was the Kulak penalty late in the 2nd legit? On the US replay I saw no hook, his stick was too low for a hook.

I thought so. I said at the time "in the grand scheme of makeup calls, that isn't the worst".

I guess my biggest issue is if you're gonna call it like that one way, call it the other way too. I mean right before the Kane high stick Hintz was literally sitting on McDavid in the o-zone.

If I'm Knoblauch I'd would've just told Kane to sit on the bench and refuse to have him skate to the penalty box before I talk to the ref there. But I'm sure that would've done more harm because Wes McCauley is a terrible person whose death would invariably make the world a better place.

Him and Sutherland are probably some of the most abhorrent people I've ever had the displeasure of knowing.
