The Oil got this. They got the Stars number. The defensive stats don't lie. Edmonton D has nullified the Stars system completely, much like it did against Nucks and Kings. Florida will be the ultimate test. They play hard and aggressive and have world class defensive forwards. I suspect that will be 6 or 7 game series full of 2-1 scores. Canada hasn't had a chance this realistic in decades.

As long as they play tight, they should have an advantage. The only way Dallas has a chance if the Oilers lose concentration. With that much firepower upfront, elite PK and elite PP, the Oilers will always have a chance.

The televising of the games transcended hockey it was kind of a nation building and gathering around the tube to see the one game a week or several games during playoffs.

We all know the CBC wouldn't be making this decision if it were the leafs.

What do they put on instead? Will anybody watch that?
