I feel like DAL trading picks is dumb considering how well they draft and develop.

You're right, Dallas has a pretty decent track record finding and developing gems in the draft......which would suggest they can do just as much damage with a 2nd round pick that they could with a late 1st. :dunno:

Makes it easier to move a draft pick when you know there's still a decent chance of walking away from any draft with some good pieces.

A bit different no?

Not some anonymous Johnny Couldn't-hack-it with a keyboard shitting on a guy who has proven himself a useful NHLer.

Aside from the fact that I've already stated he is best suited on the 3rd pairing but can fill-in in a pinch. Or why else would you think he gave him a chance in the top 4 EVERY series?
If your definition of "can fill-in in a pinch" is "will get caved by all metrics in that role" then yes Cody Ceci can fill into a top 4 role in a pinch.

When you're the best in the league at drafting and developing? Not for Granlund lol.
Bro, this upcoming draft sucks ass. We’re not worried about our 1st. I’d rather have a skilled forward help us in the playoffs than draft someone who has like a 2% chance of making it to the show.

Also, Carolina is the best at drafting and developing. Stars are second :)

Blues fan here following Stars closely. This is a good move. Stars needed help on D and at F. GMs know this and know that Nill has little to work with in trades, so the 1st was included.

It’s tough to give up a first, but two very capable NHLers are on their roster. Nill flinched a little in the offseason, but that’s okay as he’s not infallible. Bush has worked out, but obviously their D is a mess.

Ceci will positively cause a much-needed, trickle-down reshuffling.

Also, Nils is done for the season, which is a blessing in disguise (no disrespect to him). Miro is out. I’d expect another low-key move on D.

It's pretty simple actually. Our goal this year is to hopefully win a Stanley Cup. Granlund helps us do that a lot more than 17 year old Saskatoon native Jimmy Smith who we would hypothetically draft this summer
Send me his EP profile....sharks might need this so called Jimmy Smith

Kinda bummed we’re gonna miss out on Jimmy Smith tho.
