Confirmed with Link: [DAL/NYR] Zuccarello (30% retained) for 2019 2nd (Cond 1st*,) & 2020 3rd (Cond 1st**)

Can the Rangers trade something else to Dallas, conditions based on whatever it is lasting at least a full game?

Okay. So we end up with a high second and a 3rd. When you compare it to what’s Dzingel got, it’s a fair deal.

Gorton should be most heavily judged on the return for Hayes. If he FUBAR’s that, then I will have major concerns.

He will have to play at least 50 % of the PO games for the pick to be upgraded

Not that I expect it to happen but I believe they would be able to trade those firsts to us since we're the team that's locking those picks up. They'd have to toss in extra to waive the conditions on the prior trade, of course. Im fairly sure that's kosher.

Yes there would have to be a separate deal. Not sure they'd go that route though
 
Worst possible outcome for all involved

Sucks for Zucc, obviously Dallas is probably fuming, and if Benn misses extended time, Dallas probably misses the playoffs, which hurts the Rangers

If Dallas misses, Zuccarello could end up playing in this one game for them

I watched this game as well, Zucc was the best Dallas player on the ice for the 2 periods he saw action. That block had to hurt though, he was visibly aching on the bench. Hopefully its just a hairline fracture, or no fracture at all, just really painful

I was just thinking about how we could get that 1st and Zucc back. If he didn’t play much then maybe he would be easier to sign. If he played less then he wouldn’t form a bond there. If he helped them to the WCF then maybe both sides would be more likely to commit to each other.

I like Zucc. I understand we had to deal him. He is easy to root for and I personally enjoy him. That said I want the team to do what is best to build a consistent contender for the cup.
