Great depth D move. Someone on the Hawks board mentioned it, but it helps their PK a lot. Which has been terrible to decent throughout the season. Really happy about this one. Hawks get a need filled, and McNeill gets a chance somewhere else. He'd fallen hard, though. Wish the best of luck to him, and welcome back Oduya. :yo:

Half retained makes it an even better deal for Chicago.

Honestly shocked. Not saying that Oduya's a powerhouse, but him at half for a prospect that was a permanent AHLer for us and a middle round pick? If someone suggested that on the trades board, the overwhelming response would be that the Hawks would've had to add at least another prospect or two.

2017 Hawks defense is deeper than 2015 Hawks, I like it.

The Blackhawks 2015 defense group was only 3.5 defensemen deep (Keith, Hjalmarsson, Seabrook, and an injured Oduya) after Rozsival went down against the Wild. If Keith didn't become superhuman for two months, they would have buckled under the pressure.

So Stan Bowman wasted another pick for garbage?

Someone needs to get this ***** out of Chicago asap. Before he ruins everything else that's left with this franchise.

Oduya is a workout freak so if he's healthy, and the fact he played 18+ minutes in his first game back on Sunday so it would appear he is healthy again - then he will step right in to the #4 d-man role with the Hawks and the Hawks defense will be:

Keith-Seabrook
Oduya-Hjlamarsson
Kempny-Campbell/TvR

That's solid.

This move could open door for a TVR or Kempny trade for a top 9 LW or C (Unless of course Maxim is expected to come over and they view him as that guy)

Will be interesting to watch

Uhhh, what?

McNeil is a nothing prospect. A 4th (or 3rd) is a nothing pick. Basically got him for nothing to hope him and Hjalmarsson rekindle their chemistry.
