It's a deal you gotta make. Love Stank but sometimes you gotta spend your assets .
 
Looks like Dallas is a power house for years. I have a good feeling about this, even though it wasn't necessary for Stars to get Moose like Rantanen. Elite goal scorer, doesn't freeze in Playoffs.
 
Rants probably doesn't deserve to be the highest paid player on the team but it is what it is for UFAs.

He's going to give us a true #1 RW and a natural goal scorer for the next few years while we contend. Love it.

Unrelated, this blows up our cap. I think Robo is gone when his next deal comes.
 
I have never been there but I have image that Texas is the best place to live in the States. It must be big factor in the decicion where to stay with the family.

Great to see more Finns, I dislike Avs a lot so I can finally root for Mikko :D

And it kinda sucks for the other guys to have signed those long deals during the flat cap era. Miro in particular was dumb to sign a contract so long.

Hockey players love it here. Their season ends as soon as the summer starts to get hot. They all leave for 3-month vacations.

It's still pretty shocking, based on how Nill has operated in past. Trading away a top prospect, trading away 1st round pick (multiple). Very fun to see and love to see them going all in like we've seen with franchises like Vegas/Tampa.

Best of luck to Stanks going forward, he struggled at times with scoring this year, but he's such a hard worker and team first guy that I just hope he has the best career.

And this trade, it's certainly an ambitious move, I hope it pans out.

Would you have preferred to give up Mav or Stank in this trade?

Who do you think Carolina wanted more? Mav or Stank?

Up until the last month or so, I would have preferred to keep Stank over Mav.

Love Stank and hope he has a great career.

I wondered if the Stars offered Bork but the Canes wanted Stank, or if the Stars actually think Bork > Stank

I put my thoughts in another thread, but I was getting very down on STank's long term viability. He hasn't shown a NHL shot or NHL playmaking for a consistent top 6 role. I think he caps out as a very good bottom 6er ala Yanni Gourde.

I think Mavs has more of a ceiling and am happy we kept him.

Would have preferred to trade Mav, but it's splitting hairs
I would guess Stank. He seems like a prototypical Carolina player
