Kopitar was just kind of 'there' again today, hope he's conserving energy, because he was getting worked by Fiddler's line of all people

You guys obviously don't know Roussel the way central division fans do, Roussel only fights against players who are better than him. If Doughty or Lucic challenged him he would probably go, and he doesn't care about losing. He's not going to fight Kyle Clifford. The guy's entire purpose is to take the other's teams best players out of the game. Very good at it too.

Well. Lucic is better then him.
Roussel is what he is. A weasel that will eventually burn his own team and then find himself in the minors or Europe.

Kings playing terrible hockey at the worst time, the calgary game aside.

Four straight road losses. Repeatedly losing third period leads. lackadaisical defense...

We got 5 more games to get tuned up or its first round and out.

Did... Kopitar even play today?

I mean, at least he drove to the center of the ice when the pass over to Pearson was made on the goal, but... boy, guy was completely invisible.

Four more games.

And the Kings didn't play too bad. They played a bad first period, but better second and third periods. Dallas just played well, too. And the refs did a ****ty job.

Yep, still not at all worried, minutes being evenly distributed, Sutter not giving a **** about matchups; at least three times Sutter countered the Benn line with our fourth and scuds/schenn in our own zone, and even then it took bounces and maybe the worst reffed game of the season for Dallas to pull it out. Not to mention Dallas' intensity trying to turn it into a **** show early.

Lindy Ruff trying to make it a 'statement game' and win the conference while Sutter is busy putting guys in challenging situations and not caring.

Reffs really embarrassed themselves today. You have to fight through bad officiating, but that's a 10 min PP differential on high sticks alone. Just sad.

Russell... had no problem with him tonight. Loved him losing his **** in the penalty box. Thought the Kings should have kept going after him all night, they let up in the 3rd a little. Just dying of laughter when Clifford and Andy both finished checks on him after the whistle on the same play. This is what also needs to happen with Perron... if they even throw a shot back just have Clifford immediately drop the gloves and start pummeling... see if the Reffs have the balls to tack on an extra penalty.

Scuderi pressuring at the blue line is just a recipe for disaster. He doesn't have the speed to recover if the puck gets by him.

Muzzin needs to be better. Can't have that much cap space tied up in a player and not be able to count on him. Bad delay of game when all he had to do was chip the puck 5 feet to Brown.

Scuderi/Schenn/McNabb = 3.575 AAV. What do you really expect out of these guys? They're giving the Kings some decent mins for not much of a cap hit. I'm hard on Scuderi, but part of that is how he's depolyed. It isn't Scuderi's fault Sutter puts him on the ice.

Which brings me to Sutter. 2 mins to go... offensive zone face off... top line out there... pull the goalie? Puck sat lose in the slot for a while... Sure it's a little early, but at 2 mins left you may not get a better chance then to pull the goalie with an offensive zone faceoff.

Good game... enjoyed it.

Just got back. I knew we got jobbed today, but I didn't realize how bad it was until I saw most of the highlights

Look at the bright side, every team gets screwed two or three times a year. This one game should easily take care of those two or three...

No, we understand he's a ***** just like they do.

Is Gary mad at us

Scuderi/Schenn/McNabb?????

Be careful what you wish for! DS has gotten rid of McBain, Ehrhoff, Forbort, and Gravel. I don't think it ever mattered to him what they looked like. He wanted experience and physical, and he has it now. Skating and lateral speed don't have a DS checkbox!! I cringe at how slow play leads to goals against. You could argue all 3 today. Scuds at the blue line getting turned around by another dinosaur. Schenn slow to tie up a stick on next. Schenn gets blown past in getting to puck on the third goal. Speed will kill them in the playoffs. All 4 guys dropped skate better than these 3. Although McNabb stumbles around at times, I'd still keep him in. But we can't have 3 guys on D that don't skate well. I know, there's the world of the big dudes out there reading this, and physical was your game, and the game, but it's not of much value anymore!!! Too many penalties called for for sorts of things that used to be perfectly legal. But not anymore!! The word pylon gets used on this board a lot.

stars deserved this one... and the refs too

must egregious officiating i have ever seen; from memory:

1. missed high stick on brown
2. jamie benn's trip on pearson
3. Doughty's phantom high stick call
4. high stick and cut on mcnabb
5. two "too many men" calls missed by the refs on dallas

JESUS ****ING CHRIST

did i miss any ?

The one on Vinny the second shift of the game.

What really pissed me off most about the crappy officiating, Dallas scored right after the calls were missed. If the 2nd too men men call is made, Kings are on the pp, Dallas doesn't score. Same goes for the missed McNabb high stick, that's a 4 min minor at least and Dallas can't score on the next shift to take the lead.

When do you think Lombardi is going to transition away from the Greene type Defense?

The entire system is about sheltering slower defenders so you can laugh as teams get ground into dust over a 7 game series going up against Mitchell/Regehr/Greene. It has worked over the past few years.

McBain: Still here, handy in a pinch, but doesn't have a lot of upside. Solid Schultz style fill in.

Ehrhoff: Got hit once then was afraid of going into the corner for a month, doesn't work with Kings hockey.

Forbort: Has not show why he should be in the NHL over anyone else. Maybe he gets a shot next year if he's kept as the 7th D and not traded.

Gravel: Didn't look bad, but this year, there are better options. Being able to play the right side may help him stick. It's handy to have guys like Martinez/Lewis that can be plugged in where you need them.

The more the game changes the more a throw back team like the Kings becomes dangerous.

I don't doubt a thing you said!!! It's like is it DS and DL the geniuses again? Or, has the league rules changes finally made its way all the way to the playoffs. In other words, for at least prior to last year, and for about 4 straight years before that, I always got a sense that the NHL adopted all these new ticky tacky rules, but then never applied them in the playoffs, which certainly benefited a team like the Kings because their style was crawling all over people, an occasional hold, hook, slash, trip, etc. that was never called in the heat of the playoffs, but might have been in the regular season. We hear the phrase, Built for the Playoffs!!! But what does this mean?? Don't worry, I get it, but is this the year where the style doesn't work in the playoffs?? I don't know! It's hard to question DS, but the Kings style is unique in this era where practically every rule change would seem to want to diminish this style, and so many other teams have gone to excessive speed. When I watch the Kings in the playoffs this year, the first question in my mind is are they slow??? The system protects "slow", as long as every plays sound position!! I can't wait to watch it all unfold!! I agree with those that post it don't matter now. It's meaningless!!

Remember how slow EVERYBODY said we were after game 1 versus the Sharks? All those talking heads saying "the Kings are just too slow, they can't keep up with that pace" , then we made adjustments proved them all wrong . I expect this years playoffs to be the same with at least 1 ugly game. Fast pace then make changes accordingly and go from there, like Sutter always seems to do.

Yep.

In some ways, I'm almost glad they're playing like mostly crap right now.

If it's to conserve energy/try things out, so be it.

If it's because they're sucking unintentionally, good, we'll straighten out the crap when the real games start.

At this point it really doesn't matter whether we draw Nashville or SJ. I think either series is gonna be gnarly, and the travel to and from Nashville is messed up.

This was probably the biggest killer. Even if we don't score at all on those PP's, it's possession that we would have had and Dallas wouldn't have had (shorthanders aside).

I've never been one to blame officials, but missing 10 minutes worth of automatics in one 20 minute period is totally unheard of. Sadly, it did affect the game in a big way. Even an OTL point would have been huge in this tight division race.
