That’s not really fair to pin on Dahlin.

I get the “be the solution” response, but in the ultimate team game hockey is, 1 D man cannot turn the tides on his own. And they’ve actually got some other nice foundational pieces in BUF that could be built around.

Akin to a struggling, failing company - it doesn’t mean the employees are complacent and/or pulling their weight. Quite the contrary actually - in Buffalo’s case (as well as most company’s that go under) the issues stem from poor leadership/ownership.

This is not on the employees, or players/Dahlin, in this case.

I feel like you can just set up an AI Sabres news website to post an article yearly and just input Sabres first round pick minus six years from present time wants out because of situation not improving. Post it every year and it would take a long time to not be true. I guess not though since they already traded Cozens for next year's article. I feel bad for them because Buffalo people really love sports. For many it's their entire identity outside of work, not just a flex to get tickets like maybe New York or LA when they don't really care about the team. My dad's entire mood has been dictated by how the Bills are doing for decades and we're not even from Buffalo (though not too far away across the border).

I grew up loving Hasek but wasn't a Sabres fan in my heart. Hate seeing them be this shitty despite doing two rebuilds the "right way" and put together good rosters that constantly underachieve due to cultural issues (hiring bad coaches, not having enough vets, buffalo weather being gross with no real lifestyle upside, who knows?).

If I had to guess it's karma for Briere being such a dirt bag rat player though. Philly are also suffering the effects. Arizona even lost their team. Habs even bottomed for extending his career and Colorado won a cup for making him retire.

The logic is there. Las Vegas Thunder folded after he played there. Springfield Falcons eventually succumbed and folded. Drummondville have long suffered as a Q team, finally starting to recover 30 years after Briere left.

Berlin did actually win 7 of the previous 10 championships before Briere went there, and had a six year drought after he left. COVID broke the curse though and they've won 3 of the last 4. SC Bern won a bunch since he left though and have had seemingly no ill-effects. Buffalo should ask them how to deal with the curse.

You were talking about the value, and that would be the value. If Chicago should trade them or not is a different story and I agree that they probably shouldn't. Bedard obviously has crazy potential and it would make no sense for Chicago to move away from that based on where they are right now.

What does it mean exactly? Do you think that Biz is blatantly lying and making something up? Do you think there is some truth and he is exaggerating and filling in gaps? Or do you think he believes he is telling the truth but the person who delivered the news to him is lying?

I see reports or comments from either analysts, insiders, etc --- "I don't believe anything he says." Mirtle, Pagnotta, etc. The idea that they're just straight up lying to me is more outlandish. Maybe they're misinformed and a source is playing with them?

I know Biz is right because that's what any player in Dahlin's position would do. His agent would not be doing his job if he didn't help convey some version of this message. But I understand that it's comforting to just assume Biz is lying.

It's also not "parsing" to just look at words and what they mean. Dahoin didn't deny that he will ask out if things don't change soon.

Could make the same AI prompt for Sabres Captains. None have lasted more than 3 seasons since Pat LaFontaine 1992-97.
