I’m all set with Brown. Zero reason to play another game. Bring up Farinacci and see what you have. I’m also all set with Beecher. He’s the one guy who didn’t seem any different since the deadline
Brown is a UFA to be so it will be over soon no doubt. Was reading about Carlo retainment by Bruins & it's 615 grand this year and next year.Reilly 1.33 off books after this season is a plus.

Ehlers- 8.1
Geekie - 4.9
Joki- 3.55
Lohrei- 3.3
Khus- 1
Minten- 817k
Farinacci -1
Beecher/Merk - 1
Wotherspoon - 1
= 2.3mil left.

*Bonus*
Work on a trade for the rights to Conor Zary using Peeke & Lysell. Use the now 5.8mil to sign Zary and Perbix. If not Zary, flip Peeke for pick, sign Hall at 3m.

Sorry hits? Ullmark, Krug, Geekie and probably Vatrank are “hits” and the only guys I’d go back and resign.

The rest of those guys are either net neutral or scratch level (Koepke, Tufte, Jones, Brazeau, JVR etc).

Sure, he paid very little and got back little on most of those guys, so as signing, they’re “wins”, or fair value. There isn’t a hit among them aside from the few I listed up top.

And notably, the whiffs were prominent signings for bigger dollars, and they all sucked. Including Zadorov whom you somehow counted as a hit??? Why?

IMO DS gets more heat for his drafting than he deserves. His trades have been very good. But his UFA work on top half of the roster players is terrible, and that’s what we are lacking. I only hope he takes a summer off.

Halak was a hit. He was a good 1B his first year and an above average backup the rest of the time here.

I’d avoid big expensive contracts (Ehlers) this summer for wingers. I’d wait for Eichel or maybe a trade for a 1C.

In the meantime as suggested above take swings at reclamation projects (Geekie) for short term/ money. Count me in on Taylor Hall reunion. 2 years/ 3m per. He’s half the player he was in NJ but he’s elite at skating the puck through neutral ice and entering the o zone. Still a great passer. Can help fill the Marchand void.

This. Stay away from Ehlers. The Jets are playoff underarchievers every year and he is a big part of that. He is also rumored to be traded since forever. Top line center is the number one priority for the next two offseasons.

I also would be very careful of the contract given to Geekie. He rode the Pasta wave to get up his value but without him he is back to being a very good third liner. I wouldn't go above 4 million and or more than 3 years. In other news Poitras somehow became redundant with the arrival of Mittelstadt and Minten, Lindholm with an long term contract on the team and still the need of an number one center to add. Then you have the question mark if he can handle the physicality of the NHL. I think it could be wise to package him with a pick and fill the need on the top six wing.

Hall is rumored to sign an extension with Carolina and even if not, injuries derailed him too much.

How isn't Brazeau a hit? He was signed for free and turned into 2 decent assets and a late pick.
