If they have two extra 1sts and think that he is the missing piece that they need on D, why not?there's no way they get into a bidding war for andersson

My vote was for Andersson as well, but I was thinking putting him with Mateychuk. I think that could ease some load on Zach and make a really strong shut down pair with Denton that can be out there for more defensive situations.I've been pushing for Andersson since the off-season and still feel he's a perfect fit. The caveat... he's only signed through next year and could be Provorov all over again if he wouldn't extend this Summer. I think adding him and keeping Fabbro as the 2nd pair RHD would put this team in a very strong position long term. Doesn't even need to be big contracts. Want to extend each for 3 years... works for me. Go 4-5 with Rasmus and 3 with Fabbro... OK. He's the top pair RHD that would be a huge boost.
If that were even possible I think you'd be looking at Provorov going out for a hopeful 1st and that would provide 2 additional 1sts (whether both this year or not, still good assets to move). We have young players to move and we have cap space to extend both without disrupting the future.
Werenski Andersson
Mateychuck Fabbro ???
Severson Gudbranson
JJ or Harris or Hunt or Christianson as an extra
That's a lot for a "bottom" pair and maybe these don't fit but for one year it's manageable and slide Severson back to the right side after Gudbranson leaves (no clue if Severson can play his off side but this would lessen his minutes and be a huge plus as a 3rd pair guy).
Just spit balling, but Andersson is the guy I chase if anyone.
because they can't negotiate an extension with him until this summer and there's no way they'd trade for him with the risk that he'd be a two-year rental. he's also gonna get super expensive on his next contract. If they have two extra 1sts and think that he is the missing piece that they need on D, why not?
On Rasmus Andersson
Running up the prize? Maybe. Or maybe they keep him, who knows.

In a recent interview with a Slovak journalist, Simon Nemec opened up about his journey and being sent back to the American Hockey League.thehockeywriters.com
??? Thoughts???
I'm not excited about adding more rookie D. I'd rather pay for a currently high-end player.
name a few of interest to you
