6' 4.5" right-handed defenseman. In one of the games was announced to the Třinec senior team, but for some reason did not appear on the ice. Perhaps he will make his debut in the Extraliga a little later.
It was Mrtka, and not Mikel, who was the first of the 2007 defensemen to be invited to the 2006 team. At the u18 tournament in Zuchwil he became statistically the best defenseman. A guy who can be drafted. On a Czech scale, this is not nothing because we are looking for it for 2025. Until then, I only had Benak in mind.

Really? Feels like we have a few good years coming up of players that should be drafter and our round 1 streak seems to be safe.

We will already have to see if the streak will hold in 2024. With Jiricek's injury and bad season, the chances have dropped. 2025 is still insufficient to be sure. Benak can slide very low with his size and his season is disappointing.

I wouldn´t mind, hope we are going to have czech version of Brayden Point on our hands, he still has 4 years to grow, he´s just 16 also he is not weak against adult players so i am not overly concerned.

Already like 6'5 and is Right handed which NHL teams like. Do you see Radim Mrtka as a potential riser in 2025? Maybe like a Liam Bichsel type defenseman and he seems like he might have some decent offense. Idk for sure but what kind of player is he, etc.

Yeah, he's a good skater, has a good motor, plays with high pace on both ends of the ice, and likes having the puck on his stick. Should be a fun player to watch this upcoming year.

Yeah, he had a good Hlinka. I think he’ll be the first Czech drafted this year. I have little doubt. Hard to see him not being a first rounder.

I agree, he looked really good at the Hlinka. Him and that German defenceman Handle were two guys that please y surprised me. Both could be first round talents.

Included in the roster for the 5-nation tournament (u20) in Zug, Switzerland. Benak is also nominated for this tournament from the younger age group (07).

Not sure if I've simply watched the wrong game, but he was disappointing in my most recent viewing. His skating did not seem as good as I expected, he had issues in the neutral zone, and created a few turnovers in his own zone.

Is this something you guys have seen or was it just a bad game?

In general, the Czech extra league is too demanding for such young players. You saw well. Mrtka unfortunately had big problems in the game and it wasn't just one match.

Čihař played well yesterday as well, which is what I noticed. It's much more complicated live than on TV, at least for me for sure. His stock is definitely rising, but I'm not sure if that will be enough for him to attack the first round, maybe he wasn't that big of a player at HGC. He should have an extremely successful rest of the season.
