Not really super motivated to scout our own prospects anymore (that's what apathy does) but at least it doesn't seem like a reach, ranked 99th here :

They have no ability to scout hockey IQ. Its so low on the priority list with this group its astonishing.

But wouldn't you need hockey IQ to scout hockey IQ? Maybe the problem is there

Takes a while for a fella like that to feel comfortable with his "new" body. Once he realizes how much bigger and stronger he is, he could become much more physical.

That's what I'm hoping for. That's quite a growth spurt. It's easy for confidence on your body to be really low when you feel like bambi on ice. That might also translate into decision making and what we perceive as hockey IQ or vision. At the same time, kid seems to have good coordination and skating, so who knows.

Either way, he's one of those kids we won't see for a good 4-5 years, at any rate.

Obviously you just ask the guy in draft interviews, What's your hockey IQ? The lower your answer, the more honest you are, good character.

Unfortunately, I only saw him today at development camp with the figure skating coach doing skating drills. You're right though he has good size & seems to be a decent mobile skater with some speed, looking forward to seeing him a little closer up tomorrow. Stuart Rulofs LW looked much older than most of the guys there today, I'm hoping to see him more tomorrow too.

I'm hoping this guy turns into a very good two way defenceman, Ottawa needs a high end RD. Guennette is another guy who could continue to get better, although I think Hoyt could be better but both are very interesting RDs.
