Big role is being offered to him next season, Edvinsson & Johansson in Detroit. So i would guess he starts in 1st pair and in 1st PP unit. We'll get answer then.

Unfortunately with 6 dmen under contract once Seider is signed, I don't see both being up. Unless Yzermsn moves a dman or two this offseason.

seider-walman-edvinsson-chariot-petry are locked in for varying reasons . obviously hol will try to be jetisoned . maata traded for a draft pik because of log jam and he is replacable plus teams would covet him for bottom pairing . johanson on board or traded for a pick if detroit not high on him and would rather go after a ufa d or 2 like pesce / roy , unpredictable as nobody knows if yzerman wants to get real serious about making playoffs next season or cool jets and wait for youth wave . priority #1 = getting edvinsson a partner !

Well Johansson is out of waiver options so if hes not with Detroit he'll be in the NHL somewhere. People who watch GR say he was comparable to Edvinssons impact down there this year (some say better).

This season will be a big tell on what Wallinder or Tuomisto are going to do because theyll both get massive opportunities

How has he played this season and does he have any shot at a NHL spot? Looks to be having a decent season in AHL

He’s pretty good at moving the puck and he has a good shot, uses his frame well and is obviously mostly a stay at home defenseman. You wont really see him on the break. He could potentially become a 5/6 if everything pans out right but he most likely will be a career AHLer. His biggest issue by far is his skating.
