Long since I saw a US WC team be so much faster than their opponents ... outskating Euro teams easily :)

We have yet to play 3 good consevcutive periods (even combing games.. eg. a good third against one opponent and 2 good ones against the next opponent).

Tonight will not break that trend.

I see the exact same shit I saw all tourney (and you saw against Canada).. I'm starting think there is no master plan and 'super chances' are stupid. Not that I'd mind a superchance but that whole notion of get it deep and, I don't know, take a shot (like the goal against us) is non existent. I'd call us unwatchable.. I highly recommend the German Swiss game.lol

We're going to have to move the puck more quickly out of our zone if we want to have any chance to create opportunities. It's such a struggle for our dmen right now.

The Czechs can't start a controlled zone exit to save their lives right now. Even crossing the US blue line with the puck looks impossible.

The only other potentially fast skating and 'smooth' Dman is Zboril and he's attached to Jordan. The rest are big, older guys that can stand in the 'house' and block shots. We left the fast skating and creative ones at home because they might make a mistake (like the first goal that went of both our D)

Our coach doesn't beleive in shots.. I'm not kidding. He believes in super chances. He will say that Kubalik had a super chance and the reason we lost is because we didn't covert that superchance. He might argue that we won that period because US didn't have a superchance and we did.

This sounds like bullshit till you watch the presser after the game and realize he's saying that.

I also question the selection of the first line center. I am not a fan of Sobotka in the least.

The U.S didn't even get many shots but it doesn't matter because the way they are skating and moving the puck in the Czech zone they are going to create super looks and get easy goals when it all clicks sooner or later.

Next period will tell the tale, the Czechs either start to compete here and work the initial puck carrier or they are toast.

I'm a big fan but, unfortunately, I'm about to type this for the 100th time (poor Czech posters keep reading this).. he was never a 1C... not even as an NHLer coming over. He's well past that. He should be a 3C for us and he'd be AWESOME .. I'd love him. But we prefer guys in their 30's who were defensive specialists a decade ago in the NHL and now play in the Extraliga as our 1C. I actually think Zohorna would be a better choice and despite his struggles, Spacek is a very creative player who I'd prefer there.

Our first 3C's are just different versions of Sobotka. Plekanec would've been better today and I'm not even joking.

However, I have all day for Sobotka at 15 minutes a game on line 3 and doing a PK. All day.

On PP1? 20 minutes a night? GTFO

He is the emobdiment of what Kari wants. He'd rather 4 Sobotkas then 4 creative players.
 
Is Kari capable of a change? For instance.. bench Jordan and give Zboril more time because he has the wheels to keep up? Or give Smejkal or Zohorna a bump?

He did last year in the Bronze game.
