Deserved win in the end, Czech had their chance in the 2nd period but couldn't use their momentum, and Switzerland played a smarter 3rd period, staying out of the penalty box and avoiding mistakes.

Not the end of the world from the Czech point of view, they look good enough to win their remaining games and should be afraid of no one from the other group.

First of all.. not one Czech poster has said anything but nice things about the Swiss.

Second of all.. the last 10 were actually posted on page 1 of this thread

2019 5-4 Czech, GWG in the empty net
2018 5-4 SO Czech
2017 3-1 Swiss
2016 5-4 Czech
2015 2-1 Czech SO
2013 2-1 Swiss and 5-2 Swiss
2010 3-2 Swiss

We'd won 4 of the last 5 matchups going into this one (highlighted for you).

Going back to 2010.. the record going into today was 4 and 4. Now 5-4.

6-5 actually, I forgot the Olympics (4-1 Czech in 2018 and 1-0 Swiss in 2014)

No, what i meant is the end result not the head to head matches ;)

This group is very open. I'd dare to say, there are 6 teams with a shot at quarters, even Denmark and Slovakia could snatch one. Russia is probably the only confident lock at this stage.

Good and efficient win even though we were certainly lucky to get 7 PP's. Good to know that the power play works though wich isnt always a given for Switzerland. Only point of contempt were the breakouts on the PP. I felt they sometimes struggled to get set in the opposing zone. That needs to get better. Other than that no much to say. I feel like the Czechs should have been better simply looking at their roster, but they didnt have the same team chemistry as we did. Say what you want about Fisher and I have critizied him a lot on this board but he has suceeded to implement a coherent system for the NT wich has shown in every WC he was part of to some degree.

Switzerland was better in all. I hoped the bad luck would be broken but it didn't happen. Shame. Maybe next time :) The championship is not over yet!

I dont know all the results m8, but i read and article and the swiss was the 5th best team (6th the czechs) over the last 10 years. But i think they are pretty even
It's obvious you don't know the results

I agree we're even except you came in with this:

They were better then then you if you look the latest 10 wms!

and this

The whole team is better tho

and this

They were already the better team last wm as they very unlucky loss vs the czechz! Just saying

Yeah, that was based just of the match today tho. Apart of that i think they are quite even

I just came to read this thread after watching the game and I must say that I am very impressed with Czech fans: a very classy bunch! Very refreshing! Good luck to the Czech Republic for the reminder of the tournament, guys!

I've got another ace in my pocket with the Bruins this year.

I think we are on the same page in that respect ;)

Its far from over though. The Czechs should normally beat every team left except maybe Sweden, wich seems to have the weakest roster in a long time.

You totally right. Your team chemistry was great. Czech are still looking for this? I don't know, but today it didn't work.

It was just for today
I just meant the last 10 tournamnets until I found out that doesn't work for my argument
I actually didn't mean head to head results because those don't work for my argument
I dont mean the medal table results either because those don't work for my argument

and we've played 25 guys now... I really am curious who gets the call against Belarus in what I imagine will be a close game.

Having the same coach playing the same system for 5 years makes the team gels faster too, the players know what they have to do right away.
On the Swedish TV they seemed unable to say "Switzerland" without adding the epithet "very well coached".
Fischer's greatest fan club works at svt1, it seems.
At this point I agree. I like how he shaped the team
