What ever happened to Kvasnicka?

I remember him being pretty dynamite at the U18’s in his draft year.

Perhaps surprisingly, Šalda and Jeník didn't make the initial 18 skaters roster. With Jeník, it is not so surprising, as he has been having not very good season thus far. With Šalda, it honestly surprises me, maybe some minor health issues?

If we can afford to sit Jenik and Salda, we must have a pretty damn good team. I will be watching guys like Pour/Hrabik/Kern and Gaspar/Mikyska/Bukac closely, because I very much doubt they are better than the two sitting.

I am surprised (by both of these moves) since from what I remember, Jenik has always been pretty good player, dangerous, hard-working and very noticeable in the offensive zone. I don't like it.

Jeník has been meh this season, really. Nothing special. He has potential, but has not really shown it. However, I think he will be added to the roster during the tournament, and Šalda as well.

Kratoška said they would probably be divided. Which I do not understand.

Into two lines? Nečas and Zadina in first, Kaut in second? Perhaps they want to have two more offensive lines against Switzerland, to put the Swiss under pressure? It makes some logic to keep the pressure going for more shifts. I would prefer to have them together, still.

Salda was one of my faves last year!

I have nothing against splitting up Necas/Zadina/Kaut as long as they get the powerplay time and occasionally put together on a double shifts (eg. final minute of a period).

It's going to be a tough game! I say we win 1-0.

It did not specify .. If it divides Nečase and Zadinu, it is a stupid mistake ..

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. If they stack the PP1, I think I’m ok with splitting them up 5v5.
Kaut-Necas-Kern???
Lauko-Kondelik-Zadina

Kern is best buddies with Necas. Maybe they play well together and I think they have in the past. Who else could go there?

I don't have an answer but I like the discussion...

I'd put Zadina with one of the elite playmakers (Kaut and Necas). Since Necas is better (IMO) then I'd have him carry his own line with whoever you consider to be the next best forwards and let Kaut/Zadina dominate. Personally I'd pair it as:

Necas/Lauko
Zadina/Kaut

However, when I look at this, Kaut/Lauko could be a phenomenal second pairing. Note: this is where guys like Chytil/Safin would turn it into lines and not 'pairings'.

That is my logic which could be flawed .. morning ramblings!

I would like to have the Nečas - Zadina combo together. So: Kern - Nečas - Zadina; Kaut - Kondelík - Lauko.

Is it just me or are the Czechs a lot better than a lot of people think they’ll be
Perhaps, but I also think there is quite a few people that are overrating them a bit as well.
Their defence is trash. Not sure how competitive they’ll be with that. Only time will tell.
BUT overall from last year the offence and goaltending are improved/have more depth. So in theory we should be better and could move into semis again.
Honestly, I just hope for no blowouts and tightly contested matches. Even if that means going out in quarterfinals.

Anyone have any idea what's going on with Salda? He's not registered, though the team is below the roster limit so I think he can be added later. I would have thought he would be leading the team from the back end.

Next year:

Blumel-Lauko-Jenik
Plasek-Pekar-Teply
Strondala-Mysak-Lang
Cajka-Barinka-Pytlik
Najman

Malik-Hugo Has
Dluhos-Zabransky
Dajcar-Stibingr
Kubicek

Dostal
Dvorak
Malik
