WJC: Czech Republic 2019 Roster Talk

The Czech team is superior to the Swiss though. They could have 16 NHL drafted players on their team (will have 14 due to injury and NHL commitment). The Swiss have nowhere near that depth. Necas, Kaut, Zadina and Skarek are far better than anything the Swiss have to offer.

Positionally, only Kurashev would slot into the Czech's top 6 forwards . I'm not sure anyone from Switzerland makes the top 4 Dmen and all 3 Czech goalies are superior to the Swiss'. I don't know where your argument comes from. Take away any teams top 3-4 players and tell me how good they are...

Yes they do have a much better team than the Swiss. and a much better team than us (even though this is hard to admit Czech bros). They have the high end players that Swiss team just cannot match. Plus Czech goalies are talented that they can steal games against top team. This is a great Czech team and I will always root for them, unless of course they are playing us ;). Oh yeah and they have the right to be a bit cocky, they are producing a lot of first round talent :thumbu:

Well, the swiss D is pretty much on a similiar level, we have far more superior forwards and goalies are better as well. I don't think there is something cocky about this, that would say most independent hockey fans. However, competing Swiss is never easy and I expect anything but a blowout win. I would actually predict a tie after 60 minutes but it could go either way.

He is among the 14 forwards. With the highest probability, only 13 of them will make the official roster (+ 7 D-men). I suppose him to be one of the players "on the edge," but I think he will make it.

Thanks. Who do you think will be starting goalie?
 
Did Galvas not play in the game against the US? I didn't see him in any line combos. Just getting him some rest before playing the big minutes in the tournament?
 
I think it is 1. Skarek. 2. Dostal. 3. Patera.

Honestly, I like all 3 goalies and don't care who starts as long as one of them gets hot. This isn't like the world's where I felt rittich should start over francouz... Now rittich is an NHL starter and francouz is stuck in the AHL. Or when we put in Hnilicka in against Sweden in Olympics and left vokoun on the bench. I'd be fine with all 3 here.

I think all 3 goalies have high qualities. Škarek has been delivering some stellar performances in Finland, and, although he was never yet solid playing for the national team, I still think he is the main contender for the no. 1 position. With Patera, it was only my estimation, based on that Patera was in the net for the second half of the game against the USA. Personally, I am not worried regarding the goaltender position. The defence and roster depth are much bigger issues.
