It's hard to say. Friedman is also a mouthpiece for the league so he may just be spinning the NHL's story here. This could just be their effort to smear Mereulo's name and make him the scapegoat.

Friedman also talked about the players anger and sense of betrayal but Seravalli claimed the players were happy....said they were looking forward to an owner with deep pockets and playing in an NHL arena again.

Who knows what to believe.
I don't see why both can't be true. "You're gonna have a better job but you need to uproot your entire family to do so" is a problem many professionals face at some point and it's a conflicting situation for them.

Pure speculation on my part, but could Ishbia be trying to buyout Meruelo's chance at an expansion franchise? Would keep him from having to worry about another arena getting built in Phoenix and could give him a pretty big chip in bargaining with the city for a new arena down the line.

Seems improbable to me. The Suns lease in downtown Phoenix runs through 2037 and “fixing” the arena sight lines for NHL isn’t going to be financially practical.

If Ishbia or the next Suns owner wanted to add a NHL team to their portfolio you’re probably looking towards at least 2033 as the earliest when discussion over building a new Suns arena could open back up. Whether that new arena is in downtown Phoenix or elsewhere.

I was questioning whether it should wait until after the game.

Are they saying anything on the Coyotes broadcast? I’m ancient so I still have center ice and I only have the Oilers feed

If Meruelo is actually tagged as the owner who will resurrect the Yotes in Arizona, then nobody has learned much from this long saga. A credible, trustworthy owner has been one of the main missing ingredients all along. The NHL needs to wipe the slate clean. My guess is that they have very little confidence in Meruelo at this point, and they'll find a way to kick him out of the process and start afresh with a new ownership group.

Hah…. I can’t get their stream service on either of my Apple devices.

Started getting “not available in your region area”. Think it’s because I’m going via Verizon wireless right now because it works on the home WiFi.

Radio feed is not saying much.
