Cuylle up with the Rangers

The Rangers just told us exactly how they feel about Kravtsov. Bumping him from the lineup for a kid who has never played an NHL game. If Cuylle throws 1 hit tomorrow he'll be as impactful as VK was last night

I know you're just joking. If these kids know anything about being in this organization, it's that going in and out of the lineup you're first couple of years here as a first-rounder is as expected as the sun going around the earth.

Is there a better way to totally ruin his development than to call him up to play 6-8 minutes on the 4th line with no special teams role? How about leaving him in his big role in the AHL where he can try to score?
I didn't realize he's going to be playing 6-8 minutes on the 4th line for the rest of the year.

Thanks for the update.

It's just a cup of coffee look. Team probably wants to see how far along he is in his development and if he can play a regular NHL shift. He will be back down in the AHL in 2 weeks unless he somehow dominates on the 4th line. Also this is good for him because he can see how much he needs to improve himself to fit in at the NHL level and help motivate himself. This is exactly how you want a team to develop a young player.

There's definitely something there with Krav, I think he is more of a 30-40 point middle 6 winger at his peak, but this move makes me think more than ever that theres a real chance he is moved at the deadline. He has showed his game doesnt work as a 4th liner in a couple stints there.

Hasn't shown much beyond just being ok on a line with Panarin for long stretches, upcoming RFA with arb rights and do we really think thats going to be an amicable contract negotiation? Theres been issues in the past and I dont think he is dying to sign a league minimum contract after being scratched half the year. I think he is moved before he goes back to Russia again next year and the Rangers are left with nothing.

Breaking: He is practicing on a line with Panarin and Zibanejad

I don't see any harm in letting the kid get his feet wet at the NHL level. Let him see what it's like and what he'll need to do to elevate his game to the next level. As long as it's for a short time, I think it will be beneficial. Long term? Sure, that would be stupid.

I think Krav will eventually be a good, maybe VERY good, middle sixer. He does NOT play a 4th line game. Most of us were cognizant of this when Krav was sent to Hartford last year after he couldn't crack the top nine. It wasnt that he was "beat out" by 4th line talent, like some people wee railing against, it was that he doesn't play that role, even think of it as a different "position." He doesn't play it. He can play defense on a third or second and hopefully his offense comes along, but he can NOT play a heavy, or even moderately heavy, game which is what is needed for this 4th line.
Obviously Cuylle can play that TYPE of game, they are seeing if he's close to playing that type of game at the NHL level. Again, it's not that he's beating Krav out, it's all the top nine forwards that make him odd man out.

Wont be surprised at all if Cuylle doesn't play in either game, and back in Hartford right after Vegas game. But great step to practice and immerse w NHL team for 4 days

We know how Gallant feels about him, not the org. It’s obvious Gallant doesn’t like him

He even admitted before the game yesterday they’re not playing Krav in a spot to beat maximize his skills (ie top 9 role)

It is what it is but I thought Kravstov has looked solid in the top 9 mins he’s been playing

I'm not sure that means Gallant, or anyone else, doesnt like Krav. Krav just isn't beating out any of the top 9 forwards right now and is ill suited to 4th line.

Yeah I mean Drury couldve just called up Brodz or Crapenter if they needed a body. I think it's telling that it was Cuylle.

Krav has looked fine, I don't want to diminish his play, but if you look at the guys currently skating in the top 9, krav hasn't been better than any of them.

Gallant confirmed he is in tomorrow
