Somewhere in the middle
Look we all know there are pirate websites and some of them are notorious for virus and malware issues.

There is one site that everybody in hockey knows about that has no issues and its internet domain is the hockey hotbed of IRAN. The NHL and Disney are well aware of them but :dunno:

When I was in the hospital 3 months ago the wifi was spotty for video services but this one worked.

I know a guy that knows a guy that knows another guy that might know a guy that uses that site when the games he wants to watch are not part of his Hulu/Disney programming. I honestly can't believe how well that guys says that site works.

I'm definitely cutting the cord it's getting too damn expensive (235$) even bundled like I have it. Unfortunately my flat screen tv is "stupid" and can't operate the newer providers. So I have to save up for a "smart" flat screen that can handle it. It's always something!!!

I’ve used Eyestream for a couple of seasons now. Many folks rave about it… but I watch it on my Roku TV, and I’ve had a lot of bugs/issues pop up over the course of two seasons. I’m not saying it’s not worth the price of entry — you get a lot for $40 a month — but I feel the need to share nonetheless:

Sometimes channels will randomly black out, or NESN will randomly switch to a random NESN+ feed. This happened to me once right in the middle of a first round playoff game… one minute I was watching the Bruins, the next minute I was watching a replay of some Red Sox playoff game 20 years ago. It can be very frustrating.

Also, at least on Roku TV, the quality of the stream varies greatly channel to channel. NESN is locked at 30 fps and can look very choppy at times. However, Eyestream has a separate NHL section based on ESPN+ and Center Ice feeds that is at a smooth 60 fps. You just might not get a NESN feed and have to watch other teams’ coverage.

Finally, Eyestream feeds are often a couple of minutes behind other streams. That means if you’re texting with friends, posting on HF, or posting on Twitter during the games, you’re going to get the game spoiled because your feed will be behind.

Again, you get a ton of channels for $40. But, the service can be clunky and frustrating in some senses.

They offer it but I have never used it

NOW - Apparently NESN and YouTubeTV are close to a deal as NESN and Xfinity just signed a deal that lowers what NESN was charging and in return Xfinity will have a new NESN 4K Channel for the Red Sox and first-round Bruins games.
I hope that a YTTV agreement with Nesn does not come with an increase in YTTV subscrition price but this is awesome if true. I have YTTV and watching Bruins games this season has been "a challenge".

I've been doing the Hulu since last summer and added the ESPN+ DIsney bundle. I am paying half what I did to get DirecTV and Center Ice. Downside is no NHL Network, so that should be a factor especially since they seem to have the rights to just grab whatever games they want (I am sure there is some parameters there but I don't know what they are). That means less enjoyable options, but that has been the only downside. Maybe they will get added to the channel lineup soon. The stream quality of the games has been great as well.

I remember someone saying that if you watch the Bruins NESN feed on ESPN+ you will get a blank screen for intermissions and you have to switch to watching the opponents broadcast until play resumes?

Yes, this is true. NESN apparently does not allow ESPN access to their intermission programming. I am usually watching an hour or more after game start, so I can FF through the intermission, but when watching live I flip over to a different game for 20 minutes.

When NESN first came along in 1984 fans were LIVID they had to pay $10 a month ($26.11 today) for home games or $15 a month ($39.17 today) if you wanted the Celtics as well AND back then many cities still didn't have cable including Boston and Cambridge.

I think we can all agree that there should be an option that allows us to buy access to every Bruins game for a reasonable monthly fee as long as you have internet access anywhere on the planet and also the option of getting every NHL game.
100% agree. I don't know why they make it so difficult. I understand a lot of red tape and rights, but man they screw the consumer more times than not.

I am 100% in favor of a season package, and make sure I get all Bruins games regardless of where my ISP is.

Does eyestream have ESPN? it's not listed on their channel list but espn 2, news and classic are.

I have no clue who is operating that website. My laptop protection scanners have no issue with the site and no annoying popups. The free version allows you to look at a game on demand until NOON the next day

It's 3:39 AM and the B's/NYI game is still there

This happens mostly on home games - The NHL takes the feed directly from the truck at TD Garden which is not involved with the intermission show from the fandeck as that is a seperate line to NESN in Watertown.

@BMC From my own experience I would recommend getting an Amazon Fire TV ESPECIALLY if you are a Prime member.

The big hassle in cutting the cord is well you can't because you still need internet. :banghead:

I liked Eyestream but my family hated it. We all loved YouTubeTV. I need YuTubeTV to strike a deal with NESN, or I need XFinity to drastically upgrade their streaming capability. XFinity is where we are today but the games skip when I try to put it on my smarttv. Right now I can only watch from a device.

What would happen if you connected an hdmi cable from a pc to the tv? How does that work. Anyone have any idea?

If you connect the PC to the TV with HDMI then set your TV input to the HDMI port that you are connected to and you will see the PC on the TV.

This would be massive news.

Would YouTube tv also have 4k? Had to switch from YouTube to eyestream which has been reliable but YouTube has the recording included.
