why would there be a limit? He has a full NMC, the Flames just asked for a list of teams he'd be willing to waive for.

Ah, that's it. I can't see Washington as a good dance partner anyways, unless by some miracle they'd be willing to part with one of Green, Carlson or Alzner.. which they are not.

McKenzie: Capitals "definitely interested in Curtis Glencross"

“Washington is definitely interested in Curtis Glencross and Curtis Glencross may well be interested in Washington. He’s got a no-trade clause that allows him to specify only six teams that he could go to.

“Now, the Washington Capitals are not on that list of six teams. But he is open-minded about going to Washington because they’ve obviously had a good year and that list was submitted quite some time ago. So while it has not been officially documented with the Calgary Flames that Washington is an okay destination for Curtis Glencross, the belief is that he is open to going to Washington and that Washington is one of a number of teams that are interested.

“Chicago Blackhawks have scouts at the Calgary-New Jersey game tonight. Everybody is wondering: ‘Would the Blackhawks be interested in Jagr?’

“Much more interested in Glencross than they would be Jagr.â€

Even if Gio was healthy, we'd still need another decent dman. Plus, we don't want to dump too many hard minutes on Tspoon.. mind you, baptism by fire might be good for him.

He wouldn't get hard minutes. Move up either Engelland or Diaz to the 2nd pairing. My ideal lineup would be:

Brodie - Wideman
Russell - Engelland
Wotherspoon - Diaz

I think Russell plays well with pretty much anyone, I'd slot him with Engelland. It's not like Gio is missing for 8 weeks, at worst, it looks like it would only be a couple of games.

Chicago has to move out some money this offseason, it could be a great chance to "buy" a pick.

I'd love the opportunity of grabbing another 1st because lots of very good prospects we thought would go around mid 1st round are falling down. Would love to draft a defenseman and a forward in the 1st round.

Friedman on Glencross, Flames, Capitals, Rangers, Blues
“I think the one thing the Calgary Flames would like to do is expand his list. And we’ve reported it’s been at five. I think it’s more than that now.

“I think he’s been convinced that Washington is a good idea. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rangers are asking would he consider going there at all.

“I think Calgary is taking in all the information. But I think before they make the deal, I think they’d really like to say, ‘Do we know how many teams he’ll really go to?’

“So I think that’s what Glencross is trying to process – how many teams he really is willing to go to. And there’s a lot going on. There’s a family situation too with a child on the way. That’s all tough stuff for him to process.

“But I definitely think there’s interest. I think also too St. Louis is very much in this. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Doug Armstrong was scouting their last two games. I don’t believe in coincidences.

“So to me, what it really is all about is how could the Calgary Flames put the maximum amount of teams in this to get this done.”

Combine those three into one player, and I wouldn't care if our bottom pairing was Tspoon and Sieloff

6'3(smid), RHD( Engelland/Diaz), Physical (Smid,Engelland) amd moves the puck(Diaz)

You'd have the most coveted type of defensemen...

or

5'11 (Diaz),can't skate (Smid), cant move the puck (Smid/Engelland), isn't physical(Diaz)

Then you'd have the most frustrating type of defensemen..

Eklund speculating that glencross could be on the move to Chicago as soon as tonight.
@Eklund: Sounds like a Hawks deal after the game. Could be Glencross....but may be a D-man. They were in on Sekera
