I don’t know what the origin of the ‘crying girl’ reaction option is—but I do know that it should probably be replaced with Tom Wilson’s cry face.

A while back there was essentially a "Photoshop battle" where people kept combining the face of a surprised looking little girl looking at a turkey with Olli Jokinen. I wasn't around for it, but it kind of went down in HF lore. Other piece of HF lore I can name off hand:

"THIS IS OUT HOUSE"

"Ryder, Halak, and a 2nd"

...don't forget Ginger Papa...the guy could spam the Boards with .gifs for hours and no one would really get upset about it cuz he was such a solid dude...think maybe it's time to rename the Photoshop thread to The Ginger Papa Memorial thread...

Is there a point at which the overlay ads will stop just taking over all click points and redirecting from thread titles to random advertiser sites? Or particularly when trying to vote in poll threads?

I just need the AdBlock for work because when I do business I need to access things quickly. I read the boards for my news and there's always the message to click without supporting that frustrates me.

Happening to me too. I asked about it yesterday in this forum and my post got deleted. I hit "contact us" and got ignored. I messaged an admin directly and nothing. At this point, I assume it is intentional.

If I have to hit decline every page load despite being a sponsor, I'll go elsewhere and take my money with me.

There used to be an option in preferences that let you change the default quick search option (relevance or date posted) which is now gone, and the quick search defaults to relevance every time.

set your ad blocker to allow HF, you won't get the ads because you're a sponsor, so you really don't need it

as a sponsor, you won't get the ads, so adblocker off should fix it... that's probably why I have it off... but my memory is a good as the Sabres championship history

There has been an issue with backups for the board during an update. While the board is currently up but there's no guarantee it will be completely up and everything working or stay up and they continue to work on retrieving potentially lost data.

We are currently suggesting to hop on over to the Discord Server for now until the board is fully restored. The link is available at the top of the board.
