So is this where we complain now? This has always been a problem, and it should be fixed....
The search function/interface is TRASH. I'm trying to find a recent thread about Barry Trotz on the NHL forum.
I'm not sure how a comparison of him to Mike Babcock from 2018 is the most 'Relevant' result but whatever. The bigger point is you should be able to quickly sort by Date, to find most recent threads with his name in the title.
Instead you have to go into the terrible, very non-intuitve Advanced Search interface and click a bunch of times and tick a few boxes just to do the simple search.

You could just use Google search instead. For example, to show threads starting from January of this year

- Results to exclude here
after: After a certain date
before: Before a certain date
inurl: Put what you're searching for here, since this forum puts titles in its url. Could also use allinurl:

I like the idea of the NEW mark very much. Wondering though if you considered using something similar to how the Sticky threads show up, with the red line on the left, just with a different color (maybe green)?
That really stands out in a way that the bolded text doesn't (at least to my age-addled eyes).

I believe this is a limitation of how the search add on is created and there's not much we can do about it. But it has been a year or two since I looked at it.
Typically the "quick search" bar searches what it defines as "everything" which includes like profile posts and other junk. So I find it kinda useless even if it did sort more properly.
Also there are only like 2 search add ons (the base search SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS,) and we have the best one available.
