In all time rankings?Serious question.... Is there anyone ahead of Crosby all time, that he could surpass (within reason/realistically)?
Where did i say he'd be playing for my favorite team? This again is dumb. The man has won everything there is to win. Nobody cares that he didn’t get to play for your favorite team.
Well, he did take the last two games off before the tournament so he should have had a little more in the tank. He looked really good, he'll likely have a beast of a tournament then mail it in when the season resumes as there's nothing to play for.He was the best player on the ice last night.
Would love to see him on a contender
The Wings weren't bottom feeders like the Pens are (becoming) though. Was easy for Stevie Y to do when the Wings were still winning cups and going on deep playoff runs late into his career thanks to Lidstrom and the seamless transition from Yzerman/Fedorov to Datsyuk/Zetterberg.Crosby has been adamant that he wants to be a one team guy just like his idol Yzerman. He's not going anywhere. He has said this every time he has been asked including this season.
Even if the Penguins wanted to move him to get assets (which they wouldn't get enough to warrant moving him), he'd say no because he simply does not want to leave.
Or that pass to Nate MckThe Stone goal is a snapshot of what he can still do with elite players.
Being a team guy doesn't have to involve uprooting your life and moving to another city.I get wanting to stay in one jersey for your whole career, but youd think being a "Team guy" means helping the team build the best they can for the future and that means getting assets for you.

Crosby is too competitive to want to miss the playoffs for the last 5 years of his career.
29 points in 26 games? That's... pretty good...?This is such a crazy stat to be honest. +85 in 26 games...
Winning with a new team would be a lot easier if that team isn't trading assets for you. Crosby could have walked away from Pittsburgh and have gone anywhere he wanted had he not signed a contract extension. I'm taking a wild guess and assuming he wanted to stay with the Penguins.I get wanting to stay in one jersey for your whole career, but youd think being a "Team guy" means helping the team build the best they can for the future and that means getting assets for you.
Either way Crosby has earned the right to write his own ticket and his legacy is already a solid 5th best guy ever and he is just adding to that with performances like last night. With a contender team, you can tell he'd still be a 100+ point player even at 37, instead of a 85-95 pts player with a below average team.
Crosby's not going anywhere, though. Staying a Penguin for his entire career is probably a key priority and motivation for him, and he has that "ride or die" mentality with this team.
For 2 months? And does he live in Pittsburgh all year long? He'd be delaying Cole Harbor golfing.Being a team guy doesn't have to involve uprooting your life and moving to another city.
Sure hope he's doing some recruiting out there
He's worth whatever can be gotten for him at a certain point. Just seeing him traded would help tremendously with a rebuild, nm any assets they could get for himAt the end of the day, I don't think many teams are able and willing to give the Pens what Sid is really worth. We are talking multiple 1st, 2nds and 2-3 grade A prospects
in 2 years from now while he is going to be a UFA, yes! Right now, I have to disagree. A team trying to acquire him now is going to have a legit shot at a cup for the next 3 seasons, sorry but he will not be moved for a late 1st that probably never ends up playing in the NHL anyways, we are better off keeping him! He's worth whatever can be gotten for him at a certain point.
