Pens need to say **** it and try and go after Marner so that Crosby can get another 100 point season in. Won’t cost any assets just cap space and they have plenty. It’s clear that Crosby doesn’t want to go anywhere else but he does not deserve to be on such a horrible team despite still being as good as he is.

Other than the lack of substance to that argument, look at what 37 year old Crosby and 39 year old Ovechkin are still able to do in this league. It's insane.

Ovechkin was leading the league in goals up until his broken leg, Crosby has lead the league in points over the last month. Both these guys are very clearly inferior to their younger selves.

I think Sid at 8 is even strengths points, these are 5on5 points? I couldnt find 5on5 stats on nhl.com, only even strengths which includes ot and 4on4.

Empty net shouldn't count as even strength. In most cases with the goalie pulled player numbers on the ice aren't equal. As long as you don't count goalies....

I agree with this one on principle, and would also argue that a 6 on 5 goal should not affect the plus/minus rating of the players on the ice at the time the goal was scored. I would also, however, say that it seems more like a solution looking for a problem as I don’t consider it a very important issue.

Impressive at his age. But I feel like it’s dampened by the fact that he’s also racked up the most ES goals against amongst all forwards with 90. A list he tops all the way back to 2022.

He’s -35 going back to the second half of last season but this Pens team is very bad.
