I'm glad people are looking at Kane as a potential captain of this hockey club. Wasn't long ago there was a thread about how impossible that was.
I'm not sure he'll ever be captain, I think Bogosian is probably the future captain. But Kane has been everything you could ask for this year. He shows as much leadership as anyone.

Looking back, its those two losses against the Caps that kill me the most. I suspect its those two losses that killed the team too. I think team leadership saw what happened there and basically said "F*&^ it. If we can't get up for these two games we're finished. Nothing I can do about it."

Yeah, being 4 points farther ahead of everyone in the division, and 8 points farther ahead of Washington would have been the nail in the SE division coffin I think, but we missed that chance.

Yep, but I think had we at least put in a decent effort in those two games, win or lose, We'd have survived. The fact we came out on home ice and folded with hardly a wimper just really hurt....

Why Burmi? Maybe he's in a situation with bad coaching. Noel doesn't know how to work with the young players at all. Then people well say Bogo is playing well. That's cause he is a natural. Doesn't need coaching like Burmi does.

i was at bogo's first rookie camp. he DESTROYED everyone around him. he is a natural - not very smart - but a natural.

All I can say is I'm a lot happier drivin' and cryin' about the Jets this year than I was drivin' and cryin' about the Canadiens in years past. At least it's my team in my city. I'll be good with that for a little while longer (but not a whole lot longer).

Well, they won the next two games, but were a bit shaky. To me the big confidence killer was against Pittsburgh. They sort of died right after that first goal.

Very dissappointing. I'd like to see something resembling fight. I'm not used to watching a team peak mid season and then drop off. We should slowly be getting better all year. I just don't know if its coaching, or the effort level. The Fins, Buff, even Kane dont seem to be responding well at all to the adversity.

I am! :help:

You guys need to hang in there. The losing sucks but so does the SE. Jets could still pull off a playoff appearance. I think the way the Jets are building is still the right way to go. The team is going to take a jump next year when the draft picks start making the team, and then it should steadily improve from there. Much better record coming next year, maybe a taste of the playoffs this year or maybe not, but a season right after a move and then a half season of building without a cup run are nothing to slit your wrists over.
