Plus St. Louis and frankly not looking good at all against a bad Detroit team. It is what it is. People can think it’s meaningless or it’s not, that’s fine. My point isn’t the losing (or the winning really), but looking THAT bad is a worse indicator whatever the result, win or lose.

Highly disagree they looked bad against the Wings. St-Louis sucked, got screwed by the refs early and St-Louis trapped hard, whatever. They've looked good more times than not in the last month, it's not very close. I have no issue being critical of this group and I've been for a while this year (look at the avatar lol), but since the first Detroit game, I've been happy with their game overall.

The penalty kill has been a HUGE problem tonight.

We killed one, which was literally just Allen. And I think we killed another that was 6 seconds or something.

Then they completed the natural hat trick of power play goals in the 2nd.

It's been bad for a couple of games. Detroit got one last night and I believe they scored another like 3 seconds after one ended too.

PK seems to have some games like this where they struggle. Feels like the unit has been up and down game to game

I don't really take notes or jot things down or anything in games, but it feels like we are far less aggressive at pressuring the point than we were earlier in the year on the PK.

They were dreadful for forty minutes, the charts only started looking good after the Sharks went full umbrella in the third

Yeah, I'm not dismissing Mercer being a stupid idiot on that double minor but that PKing on the Chycurun goal was laughable. Nothing you can do on the first 4 on 3. The Sandin goal was beyond garbage, just gotta be smarter there and just eat the puck on the board.

I mean, sure? I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, lol. I'm just stating this isn't the Caps teams people think they are, they're legit the best team in the East so far this year so far with their youth carrying the mail.

I’m don’t think the Caps can maintain this all season. It’s a bunch of players all having career best’s at the same time. They’re very well coached but I can’t see them sustaining this for the entire season .

I was ok with a one goal deficit but 2 is a bit much to stomach in a game like this.

Bratt kind of f***ed up his coverage on the kill earlier.. that led to that goal by chychurn

Part of me is fine with it being two just because they deserved to have their face rubbed in the dirt for the first two periods
