The Jackets also claimed Skille yesterday. They are short-handed up front to start the season.

I think once Jenner, Milano and Horton get back then you will see Cracknell go on waivers and it would not surprise me if the Kings re-acquired him with the idea of still getting him down to Manchester.

Cracknell was claimed by the Blue Jackets. No word on Schultz yet.

**** , I just bought a Cracknell jersey

Lewis could be a top-fifty player in the league if his hands weren't made of stone.

Ah, no. He has poor vision on the ice, and is a way below NHL average passer, especially in the offensive zone. Stone hands are not, those are other tools needed to be a top 50 player. Not sure if your sarcasm hand was showing or not.

Wouldn't happen. If he ends up on waivers once those guys get back, even if the Kings take him they'd have to put him back on waivers to get him to Manchester and if C-bus took him and every other team passed on him they could send him straight to Syracuse. Roughly a 100% chance of that happening if it plays out the way you described. Manchester will be fine with Van Der Gulik and the other forwards they have. They'll already have Schultz and VDG for veterans plus the guys like O'Neill, Saburin, Weal that have a year of AHL experience.

I doubt even then whoever isn't in the top 6 will be moved up from the 3rd line (aka richards williams or king ) depending on who gets injured. I really don't see him getting many more then a handful of games kinda like Vey had.
The way I see it Weal will probably get spot duty in a top 9 wing role. Given our depth at C he'll be asked to show he can adapt to W and with his hockey IQ he may well do that. Then next year with the various contracts up for renewal it gives DL more flexibility. Whilst it may be possible to bring everyone back DL may want more cap room than that would give, so it gets Weal in the mix and gives him some incentive. If he can establish himself as a bonafide NHL player then he may gets the opportunity to slide across to C at a later date or at the very least become a more valuable asset.

To me the only way he would get top 9 is if he can play lw even then i think andreoff would get the shot first. We are simply to deep at center and even right wing to have him playing a lot. Sutter will ride his veterns. I would be shocked if Weal gets more then 15 games.

Your a bit confused on how waivers work. This is incorrect.

Even if CBJ was the only team to put a claim in he must be put back on waivers by CBJ if they wish to send him down.

It is at this point if every team other than LA passes on Cracknell that LA can re-claim him and send him down to Manchester without waivers. Since there is little reason for LA not to place this claim that's how it would happen.

This happens regularly in the NHL. It is designed this way so what you describe cannot happen. Waivers claims are not to be used for adding to your farm. The original team always gets first dibs for their farm team if the player is not going to be on a 23 man roster somewhere in the NHL.
