Cozens vs Boldy

This feels like a very, "what have you done for me lately" skewed sort of poll.
Boldy happens to be having a fantastic season, and Cozens has had a bit of a slump this year. But they're both very young players. I still take the big, fast ~70pt Center with two-way upside that has yet to be really honed...over even the hovering just under ~PPG Winger.
But obviously Boldy is having the better season currently, so that's the obvious "safe" choice. Rather than betting on Cozens bouncing back and continuing to grow from there. I think you also have to really factor in how much of a mess Buffalo has been. This sort of thing seems to infect their promising young players. He's hardly the only guy having a "down year" in Buffalo right now. I think he's still going to be a really darn good player when he comes out the other end of this. And at the much more valuable position.
Not that you can really go wrong with Boldy at this point. I just stick by a longer view of things, rather than just the guy having the better current season.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with this take, and I'm also little surprised by the lop-sidedness of the voting. Boldy does have the better career pt/game numbers over their short careers, but like you said, Cozens is in a more difficult spot in Buffalo. I was just curious as to where fans see these two players down the road.
Buffalo is in large part where it is because of Cozens. If you watch his game, really focus on him, he is a train wreck. A guy with a release that looks great (but not that accurate) and skates pretty fast, but has some of the worst hockey sense in the league.
I live in the Niagara region so I see the Leafs and Sabres more than any other team. Dylan Cozens is, without a doubt the worst forward without the puck I have ever seen.
Most of the players on the Sabres have positive metrics (plus-minus, high danger chance %, 5-on-5 actual goals for vs goals against) but especially when they play without Cozens. Cozens, for the last 3 seasons, has literally dragged (drug?) down every player he plays with. Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch, JJ Peterka, Rasmus Dahlin...you name them, their underlying numbers and their headline numbers are way better without him than with him.
And then you watch him play. He chases the puck like a dog chases squirrel. When he's center he will leave his spot and leave the slot wide open in the defensive zone for a guy to walk right into and score, just to chase a puck into the corner. Buyer beware on Cozens.
