hey hanrahan!
Don't forget Shane Doan who's being traded to the Rangers any minute now.
Ye of little faith...
That trade is about to go down since 2009.
Don't forget Shane Doan who's being traded to the Rangers any minute now.
Also Keith Tkachuk.Don't forget Shane Doan who's being traded to the Rangers any minute now.
Hags failed miserably, and aside from Dupuis one big season he was taken off that line extremely quickly. Kunitz was not a 4th line player. He was a legit 2nd liner in his prime years. Not very good examples.I'm not understanding the displeasure of Fast on the top-line. By himself he isn't a 1st line player but whoever plays with those guys isn't going to have the puck much. It's go get the puck and find either Zibanejad or Panarin and give it to them. He's intelligent enough to find soft areas and make good plays with the puck.
When the Pens tried Hagelin, Dupuis, Kunitz and many others with Crosby and Malkin over the years did people see them as 1st liners? of course not. They had their role on the line and were able to get pucks to their more skilled line mates who could make plays.
Spoken like someone who has an incredibly basic view of hockey.Ya that 20 points he put up last season is probably going to do wonders to help that line.

Maybe we can guilt him into telling his sons to request trades to NYR. I’ll take either. Also Keith Tkachuk.
I know right...f***ing unbelievableImagine paying money tonight to watch Fast on the first line..
I honestly appreciate the scouting report. Now I kind of know what to expect. Good luck to the Coyotes. They’re my favorite team in the west (been that way for about 5 years, and I liked them even more when they acquired DeAngelo).Coyote fan checking in, and no thanks in advance for Fast offers.
Coyotes are playing well, Stepan looks like his old self and playing well with Kessel and Keller. But it's the second line of Schmaltz, Dvorak and Garland that's carrying the team offensively right now. Kuemper has been outstanding in net....but dealing with 2 key losses (Hjalmarsson and Oesterle) on the blue line.
Also, hometown week for Grabner with 3 games against former teams. As usual, he averages a breakaway per game, he's due to bury a couple.
We can appreciate the re-build challenges, Rangers are doing it right and are set-up to be elite in the future.
Good luck (just not tonight).
Eh, we also got a 1st and a 2ndI mean, did they really give TB a 1st for JT? And we could barely squeeze out a couple of "pitentials" a 3rd liner and an "if" for McD AND JT? WTF?
He scored TWENTY whole points last year. TWENTY. 7 whole more points than Marc Staal. Dead last by a long shot among every forward who played over 50 games last season on the team. He is a 4th liner. 90% of the time when he gets the puck in the ozone the offense ends. He plays good defense, and PK, he is a 4th liner.Fast isn’t a 4th liner.
The point is that a line of all-stars or all 1st liners doesn’t always work. Sometimes a line needs someone willing to do the little things to get the puck to those guys. It’s a skill that not everyone has, specifically guys in the NHL who more than likely have always been THe guy
That's the "pitential" and the if.Eh, we also got a 1st and a 2nd
armchair GM/coach culture + complaint culture. dont take it too seriously.Going up in arms over every single temporary lineup move (or no-move) on a game-by-game basis must be exhausting.
Packaging them together was a mistake by Gorton. Obviously the jury is still out on Howden and Hajek but I haven't seen much upside yet.I mean, did they really give TB a 1st for JT? And we could barely squeeze out a couple of "pitentials" a 3rd liner and an "if" for McD AND JT? WTF?
TRIVIA - Who was the only Hall of Famer to play for both the Rangers and Coyotes during their NHL career?
