'Yotes fans! What's the ask from Washington? Any and all of our young prospects and players should be available in a trade for such a player on a great contract. That includes McMichael, Fehervary, Lapierre, Protas, Leason, Alexeyev, Leason, etc......You name it!

Lafreniere, 1st, Nemeith cap reasons (bury him and save a million?).

Rangers are a logical landing spot. They have the assets the Coyotes would require. Would give NYR a top pair partner for Fox.

At his cap hit he’s far more valuable to a team currently going for it. I expect a competitor would offer significantly more.
I don’t Washington has the assets the Coyotes would require.

As a Coyote fan that would be hard to pass up.

Would be expensive though. Laf+ or Kakko+ imo. & im not sure they are ready to give up on them yet

Id expect LA to get him if anything

Bill Armstrong is going to do Doug Armstrong a solid and put the Blues right back in the Cup Hunt by sending him the 1LD they so desparately need.

2022 1st, 2023 1st, Jake Neighbors & Scott Perunovich (w/ Scandella for salary)

Thanks, Yotes!

I don't get what took them so long.

They're going for a scorched earth rebuild, it's going to take like 5 years minimum. He's by far their most valuable asset and could bring back the equivalent of 2 1sts and a 2nd or so, why would you hang onto him only to either lose him to free agency or watch his value decline while playing for a literal tire fire? Never made sense.

Same idea, on a smaller scale, for Lawson Crouse.

I hate what they are doing, I think quitting is pathetic, but if you're doing it, do it.

id swap marner/pick for him straight up. not like yotes would even do that considering marners salary

other leaf fans might not like it but chychrun fits perfectly and is on an amazing deal.

It would make sense for Chychrun to have asked for a trade. And if he asked for a trade it would make sense to shop him.

But if he hasn’t asked for a trade, I wouldn’t deal him. Especially not before the draft lottery. If the Yotes win Shane Wright, they’re going to want Chychrun on the roster next year with him. They shouldn’t be shooting for historic record losses again if Wright is on the team. They should be trying to pull up out of the nose dive. Not leaning into it.

So more than Eichel?

Without a doubt. Everyone can afford him with a bit of finessing. He's a defenceman. Not the same injury concern. Medium term. Young enough for a team in the middle of a rebuild.

Every single team in the NHL would be interested in him. Eichel was maybe 3-5 teams with serious interest.

I would love to see him in Ottawa but the organization would balk at giving Sanderson.

Oilers should be all over this.

Holland already passed on chychrun at the draft when he fell into Detroit’s lap but KH thought trading the pick to dump one year of dead cap was more prudent. Trading for him now would almost be admitting he made an awful mistake and that will never happen

6. Arizona GM Bill Armstrong refused to comment when asked, but it now sounds like the Coyotes are gauging the market on Jakob Chychrun. I’ve heard the ask is massive, but that doesn’t mean opponents are running away. He’s signed for three more years at a very reasonable $4.6 million AAV and is a terrific player. This is one to watch.

The Oilers are in dire need of help in the back end. If Holland is willing to show Draisaitl and McDavid he is serious about making a run to the cup this is the kind of player he should go after.

Futures for Chychrun? Sounds great to me. Add a little salary going to Arizona to even the cap out for the Oilers cap tight situation. I'd give up a ton for that.

I can’t see the Kings pulling off a trade..
Byfield, Clarke and Turcotte are untouchable and the remainder of the prospect pool wouldn’t be enough to entice Arizona..
We also have a logjam at D next season when realizing that Clarke will make the team and Faber will turn pro after this year and push for a spot next year..
Doughty
Clarke
Durzi
Roy
Walker
Anderson
Bjornfot

Unless you’re building out a deal with the Kings 1st in ‘22 & ‘23, Vilardi, Kupari, Roy/Walker/Anderson/Bjornfot .. I’ll just stop because that’s just not good enough

I really can't imagine they'd even consider trading Chychrun unless he wants out. That's the only way it should happen.

If that's the case, there had better be a big piece coming back in return. There's no pile of 1st rounders big enough to make sense. You need a young future star player as part of the package, not darts for the draft.

You really wouldn't trade Turcotte for Chychrun?

Filling roster spots can easily be done through free agency and waivers and trades like the ones done in the past offseason. At this stage of a rebuild trade who you can for whatever you can. Arizona is heading in the right direction and can learn from one Oiler mistake - don't deviate from the plan. As somebody on TV once said in the 70s - "The Plan! The Plan!"

Oilers should give 2022 1st, 2023 1st Broberg and then some cap to even things out (like Kassian and Koekoek). Maybe throw in another 2nd considering the cap moves.
