If nothing else in the 19 pages this thread continues to show how delusional the majority of Leaf fans are.

Ritchie and Holl both make it through waivers at this point. If they wouldnt, you’re looking at a 4th round pick at best for either.

The 1st rounder is likely to be very late 20th-30th in a draft not considered super deep like other drafts.

Robertson has failed to stick with the team and has not even been one of the first 5 callups this year.

Amirov has flown under the radar and could turn into one of the more productive picks of his draft but that remains to be seen.

Every other team beats this and the other junk proposals by a mile.

Amirov, Niemela, Sandin, 1sts with no conditions… these would be pieces in the discussion and even then its doubtful the package is enough.
"Majority of Leaf fans" classic way to expose your bias.

This is the type of clown who goes o-fer on all his claims/predictions and then ghosts the thread.

Robertson hasn't been a call-up this season? That's your argument? What a bust, a real prospect would play with a broken leg!

You're making claims about prospects' value that you don't even follow and slinging mud calling other fans delusional. Get your head checked if you think a package of Sandin, Niemela, Amirov, 1st doesn't get the trade done  show me one trade in recent history with that many top assets going one way.

Not sure the Oilers would even give up Bouchard straight up. Good young RHD are so hard to come by.
What happens if the Oilers exit the playoffs early again? How long before mcDavid puts a for sale sign in front of his new house? Pressure to do something is big in Edmonton.

Robertson has been injured all year. Amirov has flown under the radar because he playing in Russia obviously. You state the obvious (and it applies to all prospects) that it remains to be seen if Amirov can be a high end producer. To suggest that either of these two prospects arent of very high value shows us how misinformed you are or you are arguing from bad faith.

This.

As a Yotes fan I think some sort of deal makes a lot of sense for EDM. Klefbom may never play again, Chychrun solidifies your top 4 and if Mike Smith comes back and can be 70-80% of what he was last year (BIG if) suddenly your roster matches up pretty well with teams like Colorado, Tampa, or even Vegas as a cup favorite. In the playoffs I wouldn't want 38 year old Duncan Keith averaging 20 minutes a night like he is right now.

Not sure the Oilers would even give up Bouchard straight up. Good young RHD are so hard to come by.

So are 23 year old defenseman with 300+ games in the NHL who also led the league in goal scoring for one of those years (handful of Norris votes) while playing hard shutdown minutes. Bouchard's only a year younger than Chychrun, has 50GP in the league and 7 goals in his whole career -- Chychrun had 7 goals during his 18 year old rookie season and has only gotten better (this year's performance so far notwithstanding). smh

I can see someone wanting to pay less for a prospect that is injured all season for fear it could be something serious.

Not a fan of either team, but Anaheim would make a ton of sense to me.

A lot of younger guys available, cap space and up and coming team within the window of when he would be useful for them.

People actually think the Leafs are getting him? I cant imagine a deal that works for both teams imo.

The Leafs wanna get better and while we have some decent prospects, I don't think it really persuades the Coyotes over other offers, especially since Robertson and Amirov have been very injury prone recently. With Niemla, personally, I wanna keep him because he looks like he could be legit. I wouldn't say any of those 3 would be regarded as "top" prospects anyway

If Arizona is looking for blue chip prospects, then LA has the pieces to make this happen.

Turcotte, Clarke, JAD, and ‘22#1 for Chychrun and Kessel (50%)

Leafs dont have the horses to get this deal done. BA is a smart cookie I bet he wants a package like Bouchard yammo a 1st minimum to get this done. I think oilers are excellent dance partner for yotes.

I would do that in half a second (and I really like Chychrun). Actually before accepting I would go around to EDM, ANA etc and find out what their best offer would be and see what to do from there. I'd also ask for Byfield instead of Turcotte but if you said no then that's totally understandable unless one of those teams came in over the top of what you offered.

Regardless Bill Armstrong has leverage here -- if he trades Chychrun hopefully he can get a good return the same way he did with Kuemper. Really respect what he's been able to do with this team since taking over

I understand what you’re getting at but we just can’t trade Bouchard. We are super light on RHD. We could give up literally any of our LHD for the caliber of player we are talking here because we have a decent stock of LHD. Nurse, Keith, Broberg, Lagesson, Neimelanen. Compare that to our RHD. Bouchard, Ceci, Barrie. Barrie has fluttered between Hot garbage and Average all season and is on the third pair behind Bouchard and Ceci. We trade Bouchard and Ceci becomes our #1 RHD. Anyone is smart enough to see how that would be BAD.

I'd very reluctantly move turcotte + for him, but the plus isn't Clarke.

The most that id move would be

Turcotte, 1st (top 10 protected) and a second tier prospect or one of our roster players.

That's a fair offer, but I don't think that's enough from this side. Replace Turcotte with Byfield and depending who the prospect is maybe change the protection from top 10 to top 5 and sure. But, Byfield is good I doubt you want to trade him. Which is ok, from your perspective I wouldn't want to trade him either.

The problem is in seeing Chychrun every game you know he's a complete defenseman, we were having the discussion in the AZ boards and internally we think Chychrun is somewhere around the 3rd and 5th D-man in his relative age group (worse than Makar / Fox, disagreement where he fits between Heiskanen / McAvoy, better than Dahlin), but more importantly his cap hit is only 4.6m for the next few years which matters a lot due to COVID flat cap. That cap hit really bumps up his value and I would think that every win-now team would be interested and at least one would overpay depending how far this goes.

So, if Bill Armstrong is serious about considering a trade, he should be able to get extreme value and a fair offer (like the one you suggested) will almost certainly be outbid by another, more desperate team

Thats fine, but thats the most that i would offer. No way to Byfield.

If the Yotes can get a better offer, good for them.

Bouchard isn't on the table, organization is super high on the kid. If that's the asking the price, the Oil walk

A package around Broberg would make sense for the Oilers. I actually think Broberg is smoother and makes less mistakes than Bouchard, but you're getting a LD in return so it eases the pain

If its broberg then you gotta add a yammo 1st round pick for sure and probably something else.

Interesting choice of "facts"
Going into Doughty's 23 year old season He was considered a top 20 defenseman, definitely not guaranteed #2/3 though. He wasn't even nominated for Norris the year prior and was overall coming off a pretty mediocre age 22 season (for his standards). Chychrun going into this year was also considered a top 20 defenseman leaguewide and was 8th in Norris voting at 22.
- He was a core member of a Stanley cup winning team (not really relevant as Chychrun has never played for a contender and 1 player does not make a team a contender by any means)
- He had 162 points in 316 games over 4 seasons, that's 0.53 ppg. Chychrun had 121 points in 290 games over 5 seasons (some shortened), that's 0.42 ppg. (remember not on a contender)
- being a 4x All Star doesn't mean anything as we are talking about who they are going into their 23 yo system, Chychrun was an All Star last year.

Why embarrass yourself? Doughty is a certified stud.

Chychrun is a great player and most won’t deny this but he’s not Drew. Drew is a Hall of Famer.

Now let’s keep this subject on Chychrun and not turn this thread into something else.
