I'd like too add Carlo as a Habs fans..something around Struble or Barron with a 1rst?

Carlo is certainly interesting from a Vancouver perspective. Especially in that he's not just a pure rental that they wouldn't be able to re-sign for next year. Definitely feels like a Tocchet/Foote style defenceman.

Frederic is also interesting, but probably not something they really need. Makes more sense to probably try for an actual Top-6 Forward that bumps some of that depth back down the lineup. They've already got some capable Bottom-6 depth, in theory. And he'd be pretty much a pure rental. He's also probably exactly the sort of guy that contenders will "overpay" for at the deadline.

Coyle is such a tricky one to slap a "value" on around the league. Had such a terrific year last year, but looks poor this year. I do think there'd still be a market for him, but it might be "selling low" prices, since it's hard to see why he'd have fallen off so badly, so suddenly. He was probably never really quite as good as his results showed last year...but he's always been much better than he looks this year.

Peeke...seemed to find his game a little bit, but then just kinda lost it again? Based on the price for him out of Columbus...i kind of doubt there'd be much of a pricetag on him. Maybe a team picks him up as a bargain bin deadline depth piece...but with his AAV, i'm not even sure that appeals to contenders. Maybe a bubble team with a bit more space to spare?

how do Bruins fans feel about Kastelic? Any chance he could be moved?
Nope
2nd in the league in hits.
Goes hard every shift. Drops the gloves.

Can’t see them trading him

Bruins need to trade one of the OP’s list or Geekie.
Trade some hard nose middle 6 players for someone that has a little skill. Too many “hard working, tough to play against not a lot of skill” guys on the roster imo

Carlo’s game seems to have fallen off if you listen to Bruins fans.
It has
Guy looks like Bambi out there this season

Buffalo should be all over Carlo. Exactly what they need.

Their arrogance in roster management has been infuriating. You get two #1 overall LHD who are offensively oriented and then you use your biggest trade chip to add another puck-moving LHD. WTF!

Byram for Carlo. Add in whatever 2nd or B prospects are needed to make it work.

Bruins have Lindholm, Zadorov and Lorhei at LD. They need skilled forwards.

Isn't that Kastelic, too?

Yeah but the third line types will net more value back. Bruins aren’t trying to sell for the sake of it, they need more skill in the forward group. Kastelic ain’t getting them that.

They need a scoring forward and there is a spot to eat for all three LHD dmen since Dahlin prefers to play the right side.

Byram Dahlin
Power Carlo

That would be a nice top 4 and a partner for Power to learn from. Problem is we also have a need for scoring forwards

Re: Coyle. He has always been a very good even strength scorer from the middle six (almost always third line in Boston). His 45 even strength points two years ago out paced JT Miller, for instance. Last year he got to play with better players and got way more PP time… and happened to shoot 17% instead of his normal 11.5. Him being around 40 points and almost all of them even strength from the third line is pretty much his norm. Except this year, where like most Bruins players you can shave off 20 points from their normal totals because of roster construction, I guess? It’s honestly a mystery.

Montreal would be interested in Carlo.

I know that inter division trades don’t happen often.

Would a reclamation project trade like Alex Newhook and Justin Barron be an option?

Ana would potentially be interested in someone like Coyle, Frederic, or Geekie, though they arent looking to pay deadline prices. Lundestrom and/or some picks and prospects could be had.

Kulich/Krebs + Jokiharju for Carlo

Kulich is attractive for sure, but that’s very much a future based move and with Pasta being 28, the Lindholm’s 30, Marchand getting close to aging out, etc, I just can’t see the bruins moving Carlo for anything but someone that can contribute to the forward group today and getting the team back to being a second tier contender.

That offer makes so much sense, mainly because I’m a big Byram fan😁.Both highly skilled players with concussion history ( unfortunately). Only problem being the Bruins would be overloaded on the left side, but hey these guys are pros and should be able to adapt.

Really like Byram this guy was a beast for the Lanche on their Cup run.

It's strange, I read on these boards that Boston will take prospects and picks, because you have very little of that. But Kulich plays in the NHL and looks fine, of course, if you take into account the adjustment for our oppressive team. He is a very good young player who is ready for the NHL.

Bruins aren’t sellers. They might buy and sell, but not straight sellers.

Frederic, Geekie or Brazeau: can be a picks and prospects move.

Carlo: Top six winger. Not middle six. Top six. This is a hard trade for Boston to make. Top 4 RD are hard to find.

Coyle: Cap facilitation if it’s a larger deal. Come the offseason different story, but right now Bruins best bet is for him to get over his slow start.

And I’ve read on these boards that Kulich is untouchable for Carlo. You can’t get fan bases to agree on much, lol.

Edit: Despite what fans say, I can’t see Bruins ownership and management being on board with punting on the season by moving secondary core guys like Carlo for prospects. Guys like Frederic they might not want to pay the price to invest in? Sure. Maybe even buy and sell. The team is better than its performance so far, it just has too many big bodied cycle guys and no ability to make skill plays.
