Given the lack of depth on C, I would rather keep Kapanen here on the wing so if an injury occur he can step up.

And guess what, injuries will occur. We are cursed.
I've been muddling over that myself. I can't help but think how the tail end of his play last season including the Worlds mirrored Suzuki's.
It's always hard for me to equate the two when comparing our game here to European Hockey but I do know his stats were stout when it counted most.

Winger on three or four with the green light to go ahead and try to displace people further up the ladder.

So Pare acknowledges that he had to do something in that situation yet the mainboard thinks it's Laine's fault for "skating into him".

I am also really bothered by how Xhekaj is the only one who does anything to stand up for teammates.

It gets worst. Somebody on X says they have screen shots of Pare's ball hockey team chat where he makes fun of Laine and says he doesn't give a shit that Laine got injured.

More info on the comments to that.

Unfortuntely I don't think Hughes and his boss see it as any kind of necessary. Unless Nick and Co go to them and demand. But I honestly doubt players would do that.

They absolutely do, and have talked about it. We're not lacking as much toughness as you think. We're not in the 70's anymore.

I agree with that, though I think the 'lack of team toughness' escalated the on ice issues we saw in the game. We were already down a defenseman, why was it Arber that had to do the dirty work? They keep saying they don't want it to be his job, but nobody else stepped up. That's some confusing shit right there. Pretty big L for the coaching staff, IMO.

Other players did, but Pare refused to fight.

For Arber refusing wasn't an option. Most players won't go up and sucker punch a guy unless you're Max Domi. Xhekaj was incensed and went after him. Guy turtled.

I don't think I saw that. :dunno:
The incident happened on our PP and that wave had zero fighters on it.
Arber went after him the very first shift they were on together which didn't seem that long after the fact.

With Laine out for the start of the year that means, out of
Pezzeta
Heineman
Kapanen
Barre-Boulet

One will play, 2 will stay with club as extra bodies, one will not make the team.

I would see,
Kapanen play
Pezzeta and Barre-Boulet as extra one for physical play one as offence specialist
Heineman on waivers, anyone see differently?

MSL needs to go on this count alone. He served his purpose. Habs now need a coach who can actually implement a strategy that suits the team makeup and a solid tactician.
Oh boy, that is the golden boy you are talking about.

Who cares if the PP & PK sucks, and they have no D zone system. Its all about the culture.

MSL talking about build a home instead of a house.

Some hallmark channel speech bullshit.

That's cool, everyone gets along with everyone, but nothing works.

PP is trash
PK is trash
Defensive system is trash
Ability to score is trash.

Feels like Carbonneau and his "let's go bowling" crap
