Could this be the year the Bruins finally miss the playoffs?

Of course it is early, but with them being blown out tonight they are sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic in 8th. Could this finally be the year they begin to show they are entering post contender status ala Capitals, Penguins, etc?

As much as i like to think they're the type of team that will ultimately go on a run and get things together come playoff time....this is definitely the weakest their roster has looked in a LONG time.

The D core is a big problem because there's a major lack of mobility. Forward depth not as strong as usual, and neither is the goaltending.

Im gonna say yes. No playoffs this year for the Bruins.

They're going to end up lower in the standings but there's still too many other non playoff teams in the East that they will end up better than.

If they fail to make the playoffs, then the longest active streak will be by Toronto Maple Leafs.

Their coach will get axed soon if their play continues to be so disappointing.

Definitely a possibility I thought of, but I can't see that happening like next week for example. It would be after 20-30 games of this. But by then, do they have the roster to win enough games in short order to make things up you know? And is it a coaching issue?

The management invested a lot in the summer. They will replace the coach before US Thanksgiving if the club continues like this.

I've been saying since last year's playoffs that BOS isn't that good. They used to be a dominant team. Now they're very mid in terms of talent and pretty awful analytically. They aren't having bad luck or anything. They're playing poorly and getting the types of results they deserve. They'll need absolutely elite goaltending to be competitive this year.

I'll be honest, I think they get in this season. After that, seems like a rebuild is coming.
The Bruins just signed two older guys, Zadorov and Lindholm, to long term deals. Yes, the club needs to rebuild but they aren’t in a position to do so.
