Could this be the year the Bruins finally miss the playoffs?

Both Lindholms suck, Elias was bad in last playoffs, so this trend continues this season. What happened to Hampus L? He was so much better couple of years ago. Anyways, Virus is handing out reverse jinx threads like atm, rejoice bruins fans.

I've been saying since last year's playoffs that BOS isn't that good. They used to be a dominant team. Now they're very mid in terms of talent and pretty awful analytically. They aren't having bad luck or anything. They're playing poorly and getting the types of results they deserve. They'll need absolutely elite goaltending to be competitive this year.

Zacha=3 pts in 10 games
Frederic =3 pts in 10 games
Coyle =1 pt in 10 games

He got his guaranteed money then stopped giving an effort because either way he gets paid.
Trade his ass to San Jose for Vanecek then. He can not care all he wants out there. CA will tax him even higher than MA does too 🤣

Lol, nice goaltending by 8M dollar man Swayman. And he wanted 10M LOL. What a bozo. Yea, he wants all this money then comes out and looks like shit.
The amount of players who miss training camps and then return playing horrible keeps growing.

Amazed teams haven’t caught onto that trend and just get them signed before if you’re trying to contend

That 1st round draft disaster from 2015 is really rearing its head now.
After 10 years it becomes largely irrelevant

Seems Swayman might have put some unnecessary pressure on himself here. That team still has a fairly good D group though. But, he wouldn't be the first Lewis Gross client to struggle after a holdout and missing camp.

Since i've been following the NHL i don't think i ever saw Boston do a full rebuild through the lottery.........I guess the closest would be from 95-97 when they went 9th , 8th and 1st........

Still managed to go to 5 finals since 1988 though...So you gotta give them their due for that......

Congrats - you've been waiting a loooooong time to use that.

Elias Lindholm led the Canucks in points vs the Oilers, so I don't know if that one checks out.

05-06 they bottomed out after trading Thornton and got the #5 pick which turned into Kessel. They had the #8 pick the next year but took a bust in Hamill (could've had Couture instead)

They let depth scoring walk without replacing it much and then the Cap said what's up. They lost Heinen, DeBrusk, Grzelcyk, Shattenkirk, and JVR to name a few, I mean you're going to have some hiccups with losing that many depth players in one off season, it's barely a dozen games into the season, given all of that it'd probably be unwise to press the panic button with coaching.

Boston needs Matt Grzelcyk back to help McAvoy, they should totally trade for him.

Please.

Zadorov has never been more than a bottom-pairing dman and Lindholm has always been a good 2C who benefitted palying with Tkachuk and Gaudreau. I don’t know why anyone expected differently.
True. But there’s more wrong with the Bruins than just the addition of these two. They’re playing spread out all over the ice. When the Bruins were their best they were always in tight groups around where the puck was. Like a swarm. Now there are big gaps between their players. Maybe it’s because they’re just getting older and slower and it’s the natural decline? Or maybe the players have tuned out the coach? Hines might need to go.

Could be.

I’ll tell you one thing though, they’ve become so thoroughly unenjoyable to watch this season that I’m not even bothering putting there games on most nights after years of not missing many games.

It’s rough right now.

Bruins aren’t old, they just suck right now.

Bruins have two guys on the roster over 30.

You know that the Leafs are the biggest source in the hockey universe of things that one can talk crap about, don‘t you? Here, I‘ll cure your ailment in one fell swoop: 1967.
