Could Reimer be gone as fast as he came?

Does anyone have a pic of another goalie setup for a face-off to compare with Scrivens.

It's not as new and radical as you may think. Goalies are always messing around with new things. Ever see the way Turco shoots the puck?

He doesn't give you confidence based on how he played after his injury. You have to give him another chance. Prior to Gionta's hit, his career was off to a very good start.

Here's the thing though, I don't think he played all the well leading up to the injury. I think we won a few games, but his stats were still subpar. His training camp was atrocious unlike the previous year where he was lights out and still didn't make the team.

Too bad then that Scrivens didn't look any better last year in his NHL games. At his age he's already reached more of his potential than someone who is years younger.

I think when Leafs fans get to see Scrivens on a regular basis they're going to learn to like this guy. Given that he went undrafted, played his way onto every team he's been on and has arguably been one of top 3 goalies in the AHL over the past year and a half, it's time to see if he can sink or swim in the NHL.

This is an incredibly intelligent player that will continue to improve, as many goalies don't peak until their 30's. Lets give him a chance and let him grow with the team.

I'm not ready to give up on Reimer either though. This could be a great 1a 1b situation if we let them develop. Everyone is so hungry for this team to win right now. I hate to break it to everyone but it's going to be a bit yet before this team is truly competitive.

Does this apply to all goalies, or just the ones we want to apply it to?

You know like 4 years to 30's versus 6 years to 30's?

Just want to make sure we are consistent in our bias.

I dont think hell be out the league. However there will be realistic expectations and he will be the backup he should be. Remember our Gm only said he's "content" with the goaltending which isnt a vote of confidence. His rookie year was an abnormality imo...and his sophomore year is more the norm. Even before the injury he was playing poorly but was beign bailed out by the team. The soft goals were occuring before the injury. I dont see Scrivens really havent more upside as well the goaltending is quite said this season. Hoping for a trade.

We also moved the wrong goalie. It's sad that burke had to justify that ridiculous extension to Reimer by playing him in games he had no business starting.

He had a .921 save % in 10-11' (6th best in the NHL) and played very well. Then, he went 4-0-1 with the Leafs and had a .912% when Gionta hit him.

Not subpar at all.

Not too surprising considering Scivens has been playing a ton of minutes all season and is in game shape.

Glenn Healy, Kevin Weeks and Ron maclean Just brought up Scrivens glove hand and the 2 ex goalies echoed my sentiments from earlier today. They do not like it, Weekes said he isnt buying the gravity reason for Scrivens doing it and Healy suggested he will end up in the AHL if that doesnt change.
