Don't know what Montgomery did to get fired in Dallas but he got a second chance. MacTavish and Heatly also got second chances. Not sure Perry is a politically correct move for ownership so doubt we see him in bue and white.

And yes, you have too much time on your hands. LOL.

Could be mistaken but  thought it was a booze problem.

Considering all the info we're getting says he ain't playing again this season (and possibly ever, depending on what he did; I heard he's considering retirement)... I wouldn't worry about any of it until it's confirmed he's ready to come back AND the NHL says he can.

He's at least Otis the town drunk and will have to field a billion questions in Toronto about "whatever he did." Which will inevitably be a distraction...

PASS

I am probably okay with the player but they don't really have a spot. If somehow they dumped Kampf Perry works for me. I get the impression is drunk and disorderly which is more saleable than lechery.

Would Chicago still have terminated the contract if they were absolutely intent on competing or if Perry was in his prime as a player? Was terminating this contract an easy process? I'd probably be hesitant to pursue such a path due to having more questions than answers.

I doubt a union contract gets terminated because he got liquored up and did a bit of ass grabbing at the company Christmas party. I don't think we'll be seeing Perry back in the NHL

Exactly what this team needs.

Another washed up has-been riding the coattails of the core. Clinging on well past his best before date. Sucking up a roster spot over a younger player more deserving.

The whole philosophy of signing over the hill vets for leadership is misguided anyway.

Guys like that aren't gonna help them win. This team has proven that much already. What they need are quality players.

Not a 38 year old journeyman who's done nothing for years.

It's not like he's a good luck charm or anything. Perry went to the finals three years in a row and LOST. He was a whopping -28 last year.

If a real contender like Tampa didn't want him anymore I fail to see any reason why the Leafs should either.

Whatever Perry did was so bad he immediately outright voluntarily opted to walk away from his contract, and the PA didn't seem to say a peep in protest. That's pretty telling...

And adding him to the biggest media market in the NHL seems like it would be absolutely disastrous

Given his age I doubt he'll play another game in the NHL.

Hard to say without knowing exactly what he did.

If it's a forgivable offense I'd love to have him over Reaves on that 4th line and PP2.
It’s a strange situation.
If it’s alcohol or substance abuse, you thing the organization would help him into rehab.

They didn’t, just terminated his contract. So what did he do on top of that?

Whatever he did, I think it was probably bad enough that no team is going anywhere near him for the rest of this season.
