I gotta eat some crow on Haydn Fleury. He was excellent tonight. His goal was a fluke, but he still contributed in all areas. Will be interesting to see what happens with the extra d-man going forward.

Honestly, I don't think we played much differently than any game except the last one, we just got a handful of breaks (Foegele's goal went off a skate, Necas capitalized on a bounce off a shot block, etc.) and once that happens, confidence took over.

The Edmundson-Pesce combo is dazzling.

Luostarinen got a comparison to Vasicek (rest in peace, brother) on the broadcast tonight and I think that's pretty accurate. I could see him being a No. 3 center here for a long time. Good on faceoffs, solid in his own zone, strong on the boards, good skater, decent hands/instincts. Maybe we can even consider moving Aho to the wing when Haula is healthy?

At this point I think Winnipeg and Carolina are working on that TVR trade right this moment if Fleury keeps up his current level of play. He's clearly ready for full-time minutes and even with Pionk playing way better than anyone imagined at the start of the year, Winnipeg's defense is still pretty shitty on the right side.

Came here for the same crow. I don't love him, but he's looking like he might be a solid third pairing guy when he gets the chance. Good on him. Bad on me.

Glad to finally get a win again. Great game by pretty much everyone.

I'm glad to see Eetu do so well. I remember a few people ****ting on him for being a bad pick having never seen him play (I hadn't either, but had no opinion). He's not lighting the world on fire, but he looks solid.

I also continue to feel pretty good about defending the decision to keep Necas over Gauthier. He's not all the way there yet, but he's looking pretty darn good.

Let's hope they got some confidence and keep it rolling for a while. They are capable of going streaking.

Luostarinen may not have the offensive upside as maybe a guy like Gauthier does, but he’s showing the coaches that he has what it takes to get a shot at the NHL. Smart player, good defensively, good along the boards and makes good reads on plays. Small sample, but if he keeps playing like this, he’s going to earn the trust of the coaches.

Feeling good about this game. I was glad to see Fleury get a chance to play, and he did well. He seemed to make the most of his opportunity tonight. Aho is coming into his usual form now, he's looked really good the last couple of games. I like Eetu's game, he fits nicely. The team still needs more Martinook, tho. Don't want to rush him, but hurry up, Marty.
