I never post, but i do read daily this boards conversation/opinions whatever they are based on...
I think its great opinions and emotions can be expressed and also challenged normally and in a respected manor
Man i love Canada and Canadians
Truly proud this is home..

I'm almost happy about this lock-down after being so frustrated by people's attitudes towards science.
Was it that hard or uncomfortable to do things like wear a mask? Totally deserve everything we get.

Only problem I have with this lockdown is that it's not a true lockdown. With schools still open, the spread will be difficult to contain until the vaccination rates are high enough. They should either committ to a real lockdown, or just loosen the restrictions. I know schools were kept open for mental health and to keep the economy going, but doubt in person classes will be open for the rest of the year

Man, so well said.

Let’s shut down for 6 weeks and put a serious stomp on this virus.

Or let’s live with this virus for the next year and accept that a handful of people will die everyday and our hospitals run at full capacity.

I’m good with either option honestly. But these half measures feel like we’re crushing small business while letting the virus circulate and not bending the curve.

I mean, yeah, it is very uncomfortable to wear a mask.

I do it but it’s uncomfortable. Anyone who says it isn’t is lying to themselves

Maybe try a different mask (not trying to be rude)? They can be a bit annoying at first, but "very uncomfortable" is a stretch unless you have a bad/cheap mask... I use to have to wear it for the majority of my day and after a few days I pretty much forgot it was there... Even when working outside on very hot days during the summer, it wasnt anything more than a minor nuisance to me... Now that its winter, its even less of a nuisance IMO.

Getting a high-ish quality mask will be safer, comfier, and you'll still need to wear one for quite some time... definitely worth the investment.

LOL it's not like as we get more information about something we didn't fully understand so we update the information as we learn about it.

It's almost like saying hey Marner doesn't have a strong shot; with every season Mitch develops his wrist shot that is more heavy every season -->>> very 1984; before he couldn't shoot at all and had muffin for a shot; now all of a sudden he has a heavy shot? what a load of crap. 1984

Failing to see how this is "1984". They updated it as they learned more about the virus. Herd immunity doesn't work if the antibodies for covid don't stay in the person. Which is why we mass need vaccination for covid.

I believe the point he’s making is that they quite literally changed the definition of a well established concept to suit their agenda.

If they kept the definition the same (as it’s always been) but made a note that people who have previously contracted COVID-19 may not have the antibodies long-term, it would not be a big deal.

Herd immunity has always been achieved through previous infection or vaccination, depending on the virus. With this virus they've found through research that the antibodies don't stay from previous infection. This isn't some agenda, this is what the research has found. So why would they keep the previous definition for Herd immunity for covid-19?

If you actually looked at the facts, why would you be happy over another completely unnecessary lockdown over incomplete information that the government, experts and the media refuse to report properly to not keep the public in constant fear?

They all keep pointing to the 2,000+ daily new infections as the reason why another lockdown is needed and yet they fail to highlight that the positivity rate is lower than during the 1st wave despite testing 3-4 times more than the first time around. Namely outside of a few exceptions like some parts of Brampton that are testing at higher positivity rates, the province as a whole is testing between 3-6% positivity rate for the past 3 months hence the increased number of daily infections is due to higher testing numbers rather than finding a higher percentage of people with the virus.

Somehow though the media and our government fail to talk about this and now we're going into a 2nd shutdown despite the infection rate being lower than the 1st wave, the number of hospitalizations taking much longer to get to the current 970 covid patients and the number of deaths still vastly falling into the 70 and older age demographic meaning the general population is being screwed over for no good reason.

My Christmas wish is a day without talking , arguing) about covid! (If we ignore it, it will go away, kidding)
Let's do it! Cheers everyone!
Lol
(No more posts from me here today)
Beer time.

Yet the whole world is doing similar things, and virus keeps spreading, how could everyone be so easily taken in? Why don't they look at the facts the way you do?

I’m required to wear medical masks at work. They provide me with the mask. It is very uncomfortable to wear for 12 hours a day

saw this on twitter thought pretty applicable for this thread given ontario lockdown

Not only that
Amplifying a PCR test that was never meant to diagnose
And listing all members of a household as a case to make the numbers look bigger than they are,
