Rebooting myself
With all this shit in Italy and now closing to Switzerland, what do you think chances are, the WHC will be canceled?
it is very good chance that it could be cancelled

They should relocate the tournament to Greenland.
After spending an hour talking on the phone with Rene Fasel IIHF, vice secretary Kalervo Kummola shut down a suggestion of playing the tournament in Russia or Belarus.
-They won't be moved anywhere. Sure this isa terrible thing for Switzerland but we can't go to Russia if we can't go to Switzerland. That's what this is about.
Kummola admitted that Russians had offered to arrangre the tournament but hte matter is now closed.
So if the tournament can't be played in Switzerland, it will be cancelled?
-Yes.
Kummola has no logic there, of course they can go to Russia if they can't go to Switzerland. It's only a Swiss government decision to not to allow spectators.

Just because Russia isn't reporting Coronavirus cases, doesn't mean that there aren't them.
And so what if there are? It's up to the Russian government to decide what measures they wish to implement if any. KHL hockey is currently running without problems.

If a situation emerges then that's different, but now it's nothing but fearmongering. Also it's interesting that there's so much willingness to keep this tournament away from Russia, but no one in Finland is advocating for canceling the UEFA Euro 2020.
Smokers? That's the most ridic shite in a long time.Apart from Kunlun banned from playing in their home country... No problem's in Finland nor Sweden either. For now. At the rate it's spreading and since Russia is filled with smokers (high risk contagion) and elderly, it's simply not logical for the virus to not spread there by May.

It's more than a month until a final decision (Fasel talked about 15th April). If someone is able to control the virus it's the Swiss government. They take it very seriously and do everything to reduce the infections. I'm still positive about the whole situation.

Aaaaaand? How does that relate to the virus?

I guess once a decision to cancel the tournament is made it can't be uncanceled if the situation suddenly improves significantly. That's why the decision must be carefully thought through.
How about science and not modern day fantasy based "science"? There is no evidence. In China most men are smokers thus more likely to contract the virus. This is what they've been saying. High number of smokers in Russia makes them easy targets for the virus.

Long-term smoking can lead to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a condition that also makes people more susceptible to infection.
