Not quite, but man, what a fantastic game by Tanev. Epitomizes his work ethic.
Can’t really blame Maurice for that challenge, it’s just one of those plays you have to challenge.
How? He saw a reply of it basically going out and thought there might be another angle that confirms it later. You can blame him all you want but if he didn’t challenge it and the bruins scored right after everybody would be one his case for not challenging it.No it isnt
Game suspension for Morrissey?
They’re actually *****ing about the refs over there. That and saying their team is trash and the Jets are overrated. The typical crap that you hear after losses.
I don't think my brain has fully comprehended what Tanev did tonight yet and chose to instead focus on everything else that happened in the gameHow is Tanev’s name not in the thread title
You just can’t challenge unless you actually see conclusive video evidence of the offside. The penalty is too high a cost
Yawn. What else is new? Winning is boring now.

Jack who?
Debate over. GG Tanev!
Congratulation to Tanev for his hat trick.
Laine with a slick move in the shootout.
Morrow with his first goal as a Jet.
My only negative is Maurice challenging the off-side and giving up the 2-man advantage for two minutes.
The cost of the penalty is a small fraction of the cost of a goal against. You need to be nowhere near 100% to make it a correct challenge; even 50-50 would make it a runaway correct decision to challenge.
Love that any Bruins fans in the building have to go home sad. That is fun.

stastny's disappeared, hasn't he?
In the conference finals and Stanley Cup the team with the best record gets home ice advantage. Step on their throats the rest of the way.Would we though? I've been trying to confirm if thats the case or not. Vegas may still get home ice over us even if we finish with more points (if we finish 2nd in our division and they finish 1st in theirs)
Agreed, I don't really want our team to be hated for injuring players. We played pretty damn gritty afterwards too, and although I definitely don't think any of it went too far, I KNOW it would get me all in a tizzy if it happened to the jets. Can you blame them after this game?
Not when you're already killing a 5 minute major. The risk of an additional 2 minute 5-on-3 was not worth it on such a close call. IMO of course, with hindsight being 20-20...The cost of the penalty is a small fraction of the cost of a goal against. You need to be nowhere near 100% to make it a correct challenge; even 50-50 would make it a runaway correct decision to challenge.
Laine on a goal less slump =(
Unless you go to a pro sporting event and your team loses. I went home from many games heart broken, never mind sad. It will make the ultimate prize all the more rewarding. No kid should ever have to go home sad!
Say what you want but most nhl coaches would have challenged that play. Btw there was way more that I hope there was an angle. When the cost for a failed challenge is a 5 on 3 against you when you are barely holding on to a one goal lead, you better have more than “I hoped there’d be a angle that confirmed it.”
