Completed the Bobiverse series (for now anyways - feels like there could be another book 6 coming).

Looking for suggestions on next audiobook. Sci fi always fun but could be swayed to something else. Had my fill of Clancy stuff for a while. Was thinking of doing the Martian by Andy Weir since it's so highly rated.
The Martain is great. I recommend The Mistborn series by brandon sanderson and anything by him. I think we've talked about it before too.

I might try to pick up Bobiverse after I finish up Red Rising series. Which is also VERY good

Book 4 and half of book 5 in Bobiverse felt repetitive and recycled plot points BUT it did get good with more of a mystery element towards the end of 5 and the humor is nicely speckled all along the way and I'd rather feel slightly bored every few chapters than lost from overly complicated world building that you have to listen to 3 times to get the connections.

I'll check out your suggestions. I have 2 credits and used 1 on Expeditionary Force by Alanson which got nominated for audiobook of the year 2018 so it felt like a safe bet.
Mistborn has impressive ratings

Mistborn is pretty great. Someone will eventually produce it in a visual medium and it will have the chance to look awesome while providing a story people would want to discuss.

I’d be interested how they do the blurbs before each chapter in audiobook form.

Some people don’t like Elantris from Sanderson that much but it still may be my favorite book of his. There is so much world building and a conflict that I dug stuffed into 1 stand alone novel that is a reasonable length.

My favorite audiobook series right now is “Dungeon Crawler Carl”.

It’s technically science fiction but each book ends up lampooning a different genre of something. Book 1 feels silly, and it’s always a little silly, but it does a surprisingly good job of building a world and characters that I’m interested about.

I also enjoyed “Oh Great! I was Reincarnated as a Farmer” but that’s more fantasy and litrpg.

Elantris is such a unqiue book. Also he is making another book in the series so that is exciting!

I still think I love mistborn out of all of his series.. Im also reading the secret project books right now and they are a real fun change of pace. I just finshed Yumi and the nightmare painter

But yeah Brandon Sanderson is the best fantasy author in the world and I'd say probably one of the best of this generation AND he puts out so much good quality books and you don't have to wait 10 years.

Everyone should read his stuff and start with Mistborn
