In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerThe Martain is great. I recommend The Mistborn series by brandon sanderson and anything by him. I think we've talked about it before too.Completed the Bobiverse series (for now anyways - feels like there could be another book 6 coming).
Looking for suggestions on next audiobook. Sci fi always fun but could be swayed to something else. Had my fill of Clancy stuff for a while. Was thinking of doing the Martian by Andy Weir since it's so highly rated.
Book 4 and half of book 5 in Bobiverse felt repetitive and recycled plot points BUT it did get good with more of a mystery element towards the end of 5 and the humor is nicely speckled all along the way and I'd rather feel slightly bored every few chapters than lost from overly complicated world building that you have to listen to 3 times to get the connections. The Martain is great. I might try to pick up Bobiverse after I finish up Red Rising series. Which is also VERY good
My favorite audiobook series right now is “Dungeon Crawler Carl”.Looking for suggestions on next audiobook
Mistborn is pretty great. Someone will eventually produce it in a visual medium and it will have the chance to look awesome while providing a story people would want to discuss.
I’d be interested how they do the blurbs before each chapter in audiobook form.
Some people don’t like Elantris from Sanderson that much but it still may be my favorite book of his. There is so much world building and a conflict that I dug stuffed into 1 stand alone novel that is a reasonable length.
McBride is smart to get in and out of these shows relatively quick. I mean he is basically the same character, but it allows him to change up the stories and the surrounding characters. Keeps things fresh.I love Righteous Gemstones, I'm glad they are wrapping the story up under their own terms but I'm gonna miss the show.
Oh, not only do you have a literate significant other now you enjoy high brow artistic cinema? Aren't you just hoity toity. Finally watched Nasferatu last night. Loved it.
Haven't watched the original. Wanted to watch it prior to watching the new one, but never got around to it. I have it on the list to watch it now. Should be an interesting comparison.Oh, not only do you have a literate significant other now you enjoy high brow artistic cinema? Aren't you just hoity toity.
I've waited my whole life for this movie. I am a huge horror buff and think the original Nosferatu is one of the all time classics and still holds up quite well today. It's a must watch for any real fan of horror movies. The 1979 Herzog/Kinski remake was ok but they have a scene were Orlock is running around and it just takes me out of the movie making the character seem nerdy and not threatening. This latest version was great with one exception. I missed the carriage driver cameo that I would have liked Eggers to keep from the original. I think that is an iconic moment and he passed on it. Not a big deal.

My friend's mom worked triage in the ER and she couldn't get through the first episode because of how real it was. I think I'm going to need to include my mom in our Max plan so she can watch it and other stuff. She was an ER doctor and was the head of the ER at two different NJ hospitals, so she'll especially relate to the parts where Noah Wyle's character clashes with the administration. In fact, she was fired from St. Joe's in Paterson for telling an administrator to "go f*** yourself."highly recommend The Pitt on MAX if you have any interest at all in medical dramas like ER from back in the day
enthralling stuff though not for the squeamish! each episode takes place in one hour of a daily shift in an emergency room. awesome cast too
where my jrpg fans at? This game looks awesome:
I haven't watched past the first episode of season three. I gotta admit, I'm not a fan of the whole season-long story arc thing that shows do, so the second season felt less good than the first. But damn, that cast of characters. And it's highly accurate to megachurch culture. If anything, the stuff that happens during the actual sermons is undersold a little bit.I love Righteous Gemstones, I'm glad they are wrapping the story up under their own terms but I'm gonna miss the show.
