The original anime film (and the sequel) are definitely worth seeing, even if you're not into anime. I'd put it up there with Blade Runner, Alien, etc. as one of the key sci-fi movies ever made.

You can see how much The Matrix ripped it off.

I do kind of feel sorry for Reigns. He keeps getting set up for failure with the way they book him, and having him be the one to retire Taker probably isn't going to help him as much as they hope it would. I don't know why they don't just turn him heel. Everybody can see that he'd be a good heel, but Vince wants him to be the next Cena so bad he's just blind to it. Or just doesn't give a ****.

Sadly it might be purely due to the merchandise numbers which was a reason Cena never was turned. But totally agree about Reigns being put in a rough spot

I was fully expecting Samoa Joe for the HHH/Rollins match. An hour after Mania ended, it dawned on me that Joe was basically a healthy scratch.

It's gonna be tough, but I'm gonna try to stay away from spoilers for the next couple of days. Already saw rumors of potential callups, but I'd like to be genuinely surprised like with the Hardyz yesterday.

sad to see undertaker go, But it was time. Its also a shame that we never got to see a Undertaker vs Sting. The build for that would have been insane

I agree, It is an amazing film. The visuals of the movie are just so beautifully drawn as well.

I wanted a double retirement match between them so much when Sting came back. It's too bad he got hurt in that Rollins match, which was a pretty damn good match up until then.

The saddest part about last night to me was seeing just how broken down physically Taker was. There were a couple of spots you could tell he just couldn't do it anymore. It was kind of like Marty's last year where you knew he didn't have it, but he just wanted to keep playing.

I mentioned this on the wrestling board, but I realized after Mania that I saw Taker's debut WWE match and his last match.

I was having Thanksgiving dinner at a family friends' house and one of the older kids managed to order Survivor Series.

That might be the first debut I can recall seeing as a kid. I'm at that age now where I can remember certain athletes debuting and now retiring. Felt a bit of childhood sadness when Elias retired last week. Similar feelings with Taker. There were other wrestlers that I liked more than Taker, but he might be the first where I watched his whole career (sans his pre-WWE stuff).

I've been feeling hesitant about seeing Ghost in the Shell. I feel like it's virtually impossible to properly capture anime or manga in live action and it such a short amount of time, and I've seen it butchered too many times. That said, I'll probably still go see it at some point.

I read not too long ago that another season of Code Geass is coming out, and that pissed me off. Couldn't have ended more perfectly. There is almost no way it can be good.

Anime and manga rip-offs happen more than people think. Sometimes blatantly, sometimes subtly, but there is often quite obvious influence.

I grow tired of anime studios bring back old shows that just need to stay dead. The industry lacks a lot of originality in recent years.

All about money. I've really migrated to mostly Manga and Manhua. Code Geass particularly annoys me because I really enjoyed it. You couldn't have asked for it to end any better. The only way a new season could be believable is if the entire cast was new except for CC. Granted, CC was my favorite character, but what would CG be without Lelouch?

Anyway, I think there is good stuff out there, you just have to dig more than you used too. It's like the music industry in that it's mainstream enough now to have a lot of cookie cutter stuff, but there are still gems. They are just a bit buried compared to how it used to be.

I saw Trainspotting 2 today. Really good. I can't believe it has been 20 years since the first one.

As a hardcore super mega fan of the GiTS movies/TV series/recent Arise films, I'd say this movie was the worst out of all of them, but it does have a high bar to reach in that regard.

Mostly, the script sucks. Which is a shame, because you can tell that ScarJo really really studied the Major in the anime; she nails all of her subtle movements and looks. They just gave her dumb lines. Batou was great, Aramaki was AWESOME, Togusa was old which was weird, Saito has a great scene, Ishikawa and Borma are basically throwaways.

Great visuals, great fights, just a really really weak script.

Which is, by far, the most important part.

The Walking Dead season finale was really good. Probably the best episode of the series IMO.

Too bad they probably lost a decent number of viewers earlier on this season, with how slow and terrible about 65% of the season was. This is the lowest ratings for a season finale of the show since the season 2 finale in 2012. It's actually the lowest rated premier or finale episode of the show since the season 3 premier. Even as far as midseason premiers and finale's of the show go, the only midseason premier or finale episodes that were lower than this season finale since season 2 were the season 3 midseason finale and this years midseason finale and midseason premier.

Even with how good the finale was, I can easily say this was the worst season they've done so far. There was literally 6 decent or better than decent episodes all season. The last 3 or 4 episodes of the season, the midseason premiere was okay, the midseason finale was good and so was the episode before the midseason finale and the premier was good. So I guess that's 7. Half the episodes were brutal, whereas in an average season, there's really only about 3 episodes that are real bland and one that's completely brutal. Like that Darryl and Beth episode from season 4.

I stopped watching after that stupid Tara episode the first half of the season. I might binge the second half of the season when it's on Netflix, but I'm not going to go out of my way to catch up.

I need my GOT fix, but we still have 3 months to go. And the seaaon is only 7 episodes, so it's going to fly by even quicker than usual.

Did anybody watch The Young Pope on HBO? I've been thinking of binging that next.

The good news is that there weren't nearly as many of those awful episodes since the Tara episode. There were definitely a few slow and bottled/filler episodes early in the second half, but the worst part of the season was between episode 2 and the Tara one, which I think was episode 6.

I watch videos by this guy on youtube, why not plug his channel I guess? Don't watch or click on it if you're not caught up on The Walking Dead though, as some of his video's contain spoilers just in the video titles.

https://www.youtube.com/user/Trevschan2

He usually does a Walking Dead video or Q&A every day, even in the offseason.

He did a video today and I just watched it, where he reviewed the season and he had an interesting perspective. He said since even the bottle and filler episodes wound up having a purpose, when you see every episode this season, it wasn't really as bad of a season as it seemed. He said he didn't think it was the worst season of the show. I do honestly still think it was the worst, but I do see his side that it wasn't quite as awful as I initially thought. In retrospect, I don't even think the Tara episode was as bad or as unneeded as some of the other episodes we saw early on.

Season 2 of Attack on Titan has me hooked again. I kinda know where they're going because I'm familiar with the manga but they've done a great job re-establishing the hopelessness, brutality, and dread that defined the first half of season 1 but was kinda missing after the Trost District arc.

I know the boring political stuff is coming but later but I'm really excited for where they're at right now.

I kind of gave up on SnK. I'm thinking I should pick it back up. I might just read the manga though. I have a much easier time sticking with mangas than animes in general.

Did you finish the first season? If so I would definitely check out the first three episodes from season 2.

I don't read a ton of manga so I'm not sure if it's an SnK thing or just the medium, but there are quite a few story arcs that really drag in the manga. Usually the anime is pretty well paced, although I felt like some stuff in the Female Titan arc could have been wrapped a little quicker.

I got about halfway through season one of the anime, then picked up the manga, then caught up the manga and kind of abandon it. I can't say why because I enjoyed it.

I don't know if anyone seen it but MST3K The Return is actually enjoyable. Patton Oswalt is hilarious as Max tv's son of tv's Frank.
