What? The Oilers were fully deserving of this win, nothing "bailed them out" although, yes, Skinner and the PK came up big for the team. At no point did the Oilers "suck" tonight.
Yeah, I think some of us here have been conditioned to think that getting good goaltending = being bailed out. It’s just part of the f***ing game to be able to trust your goalie to make some big saves once in a while.

Lets not get cocky. Dallas didn't come with their best game tonight and you better be sure that they'll come out strong in Game 2, this is just 1 game and a likely very long series with lots of ebbs and flows.
I also don't think this was our best game. Very slow start for 2 periods and then Dallas had to press 3rd period.

Sure. But them coming out with Ho-him efforts is part of who they are.

What a game!

Skinner looked really good, in the zone.

Non injured McDavid doesn't miss that chance in the first OT
Guessing left shoulder

Great pace and structure throughout

PK is humming, again credit to Skinner as well

Would be nice if we could stop gifting the other team a goal

Drai a game away from tying for 2nd longest point streak to start a playoffs. Continues to be generationally clutch

Lot of guys battling, but hanging in there. That is a huge. Bending not cracking. Deshairnais and Halloway come to mind. Perhaps playing ahead of there development, still making mistakes, but always hustling, not giving up.

4th line was fantastic tonight

Can't wait to see who comes out of the lineup for Henreque when he's healthy. What a great problem to have.

Kulak rebounded after gaff. Great to see. Got an apple even

Coach KK with a great gameplan and execution. Presence on the bench is started to make the players believe. Generally makes the right decisions.

Skinner was focused and fast

Hyman going to lead the playoffs in goals

Bouchard is going to cost a LOT. Playing himself into 8 digit avv territory

Tanev and Lindell on for all 3...their stats before this game were really good. Ha
Tanev got beaten by Nuge and McDavid on the game winner

Skinner with .923 svp over last 3

Nuge playing the best hockey of his career

Night you beautiful bastards

Getting good goaltending and good PK is different than almost perfect goaltending and perfect PK.
Skinner was the best player tonight for either team.

Skinner gets his own in-season goalie coach.

Campbell gets his own in-season goalie coach.

He was definitely great. Felt confident in his play right off the bat when he stopped the Dadonov breakaway and the rebound. He owed us for making that Vancouver series last longer than it should’ve, to be fair.

It's wild, we have the most Canadians on a team to ever make a WCF in the salary cap era. The Canucks had what, 1 player?
It’s all pettiness from the McDavid draft. It’s sad that sports coverage in Canada has been taken over by a bunch of Toronto homers.

Back in the day it wasn’t like this. When we went all the way in 06, we got tons of support. Now nothing but feigned smiles and sneaky jabs at us.
