chance mcCallum put out his top 10 incomg players since 2005
crosby, mcdavid then bedard. Hall was 8th kane was 9th FYI
Gonna guess Canadian player hype a bit. Also Taylor was a lot bigger size wise coming into the draft then patrick.List seems okay and I'm just being petty but:
Hall over Kane? Wtf lmao Hall averaged 1.86 ppg in his final year in the OHL. Kane averaged 2.5 ppg.
100% agree with this. People forget how the league was different with there be significantly fewer small players and there was real concern if Kane would be able to handle the NHL. Hall had all the measurables and looked the part. Kane looked about 14 YO.Gonna guess Canadian player hype a bit. Also Taylor was a lot bigger size wise coming into the draft then patrick.

Yeah I forgot how small Kane was when he first entered the league.
And JVR at one point as well. Keep in mind 3 players with over 130pts in Kanes year including 16 year old Tavares but 106 points won the scoring title for Hall. I recall it being quit up in the air Kane's year until the last quarter of the season maybe. I wouldn't have seen much to choose between them at that snapshot in time, The size I guess. Well they were wrongTrue. Whereas the Taylor/Tyler debate didn't involve size - the Patrick/Kyle debate certainly did.
IMO - it's funny to look at some draft years, especially with the Hawks luck last year.Yeah I forgot how small Kane was when he first entered the league.
Underrating couture hard I’d have him 2nd or 3rd best when it came to that first round. Definitely above Perron who was nothing more than a middle 6erIMO - it's funny to look at some draft years, especially with the Hawks luck last year.
In Kane's draft year - this was the top 10:
Kane
JVR
Turris
Hickey
Alzner
Gagner
Voracek
Hamill
Couture
Brandon Sutter
In a redraft the top 5-7 would include McDonough (11), Pacioretty (22), Backlund (24), Perron (26) after Kane. Just amazing that the if the Hawks didn't have the stones to take Kane, how bad the other options ended up.
"I know a lot of the guys, obviously with our rookies and on Minnesota I know a lot of guys. St. Louis I might, but not 100 percent sure," Bedard said. "Just can't wait to play a game. It feels like it's been forever. Hopefully I'm still alright."
I think he is the teamthink he'll make the team?
Probably needs another year in the WHL to work on his defensive game.think he'll make the team?
